I randomly get this issue, I enter URL and tab does nothing, even on F5, I open a new tab enter the same URL and it loads.

Maybe there are 10-15tabs open, CPU load is not high, plenty of RAM,

Very weird, like it wasn't even trying to do DNS query. As I remember I couldn't even open Network traffic log in tab, because page hasn't started loading yet.

I had an old problem with Firefox that has returned, probably because of a new update some months back.

When I click on the icon to open the web, there is a very bright white screen for a mili-second or two. It is painful to my old eyes and retinas! Then it jumps into the dark mode screen that I need and prefer.

This happened once before, but eventually an update seemed to have ended the bright white pop-flash screen. Alas, it is back. I run a Lenovo M900, Win10Pro OS and "blessed Mozilla" keeps my Firefox browser up-to-date.

Firefox tried to update and this failed, Although I can still receive emails I cannot access any other app. Also neither Edge or google now work, I can connect to the internet on other devices so router ok. I tried to restore but not turned on so cannot go back. Any ideas as the pc was working ok before update, slightly strange as a window just appeared saying update in progress.

Update Firefox 110.0.1 (20230227191043) Installed on 3 March 2023 at 09:51:13 Status The update could be installed (patch apply failed)

I am not sure exactly when this started happening but I would say in the last few weeks ? When I go to type a reply to something on the internet I get a "chime" instead of the letter. It seems to only happen on the first letter of a sentence. For example when I went to type this question I hit the "shift" key and the "I" and all I got was a chime sound. I did it again and got my "I" and it has been fine while typing all of this question.

I have tried a different keyboard here on my desktop and I am also having the problem on my laptop at home. So I dont think it is a hardware issue. Also, it only seems to happen when using Firefox. I can use Microsoft Word and other software and it never happens.

Anyone else have this problem ? I asked on one of the internet forums I use and two other users are having the same problem.

Firefox is up to date.

Thanks :) Bill

AT&T Business and BMO Bank within the last month upgraded their websites. Since that point I am not able to log into my AT&T and BMO accounts using FireFox. I have to use Safari. This was never the case before. I do not like having to use two different browsers to access accounts. Can this be fixed? Is this going to be a trend? I prefer FireFox and would hate to have to change browsers!

Hello,

I switched on my Firefox and several problems appeared seemingly out of nowhere: - the 3-bar menu button doesn't work - bookmarks are gone - add-ons are gone - history is gone and new history does not create - the about:preferences#privacy page is blank - about:preferences shows Your browser is being managed by your organization., but the computer is private

When I type in the address bar, it shows suggestions from my history before the problems appeared.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Recently Firefox start to freeze or not responding randomly. I have 2 PCs and 1 laptop, it only occurs on my home PC and not the others.

At first I thought it's because of corrupted places database since it starts to happen when I delete some bookmarks on the other PC. But I tried to fix corrupted bookmarks like in the article but it doesn't solve my problem.

In the last few months Firefox behaves badly when playing Youtube and Vimeo videos. Sometimes it freezes; sometimes the aspect ratio of the video gets badly-stretched or the video takes over the entire window that Youtube or Vimeo is running in. Sometimes the Youtube or Vimeo player is missing a control such as the volume control or icon to "like" the video, etc. If I copy and paste the URL from Firefox into Chrome, there are no problems at all. If I use Chrome exclusively to visit those websites there are no problems. This is strictly a Firefox problem. I have many other video-playing apps on my PC such as Adobe Premiere Pro, VLC, Windows Media Player, etc, and none of them are having problems. I've done several updates of Firefox with no relief.

Kia ora,

I swear I have Googled this a bunch of times and never quite got the answer. I actually suspect it's not fixable, but I was wondering if anyone understood it.

Firefox is a supported browser on the university network, but the connection drops anywhere between immediately after loading the previous tabs to half an hour later. Mostly somewhere in between. I don't *think* this is happening with Chrome, but I only use Chrome if I have to.

Google Calendar will have a wee note at the bottom saying it is disconnected; no other windows say anything, they just won't refresh/allow me to search. What's interesting to me is that Facebook Messenger will work. Nothing else will be working and I can continue a conversation that loads both ways in that tab.

The add-ons I have are:

  • Duckduck Go Privacy Essentials
  • Facebook Container
  • Google Scholar Button
  • Privacy Possum
  • Social Fixer for Facebook
  • uBlock Origin
  • View Image

Any ideas? It can be infuriating when I'm searching for (academic articles). I haven't seen that it's particularly linked to how many tabs I've opened/buttons I have interacted with or anything.

Cheers
