On some websites text selected by dragging the mouse appears with light gray background on white.

What I did to check for possible local problems:

• Hardware (AMD Radeon HD 6670 connected by HDMI to Acer-QG241Y)

Used monitor color-test (https://www.eizo.de/monitortest/) and fiddeled arround with all color-gradients: all smooth.

• switched off anything I could think of in Firefox (13.0 64 Bit Win 10 (updated today))

Extensions, plugins, themes

So I suspect there is no problem at all with my hardware or software. Just an bad choice in the color design of the websites I visit.

If so, what can I do? Is there any chance to provide some remedy locally? Installing a theme (I don't know anything about themes) or provide a local CCS to override the CSS of the website? (Would not know how to connect such skript to Fx and what to "instructions" to specify inside. But as I understand the idea of CCS correctly, this is an option that it was built for.)

The link colors are suddenly incorrect. Normally the links are blue and the visited links are purple, but now they are pastel light-blue and pastel pink. This problem is not in Edge or Chrome. I am using Firefox 113.0.1

I have tried - rebooting windows - windows shutdown, wait, restart - changing the firefox website appearance and themes (auto, dark, light) Still no solution. Any ideas? Thanks.

Currently I'm using the css from this thread https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1341968 Now with firefox 113, this no longer works, I'm hoping someone can help me with this.

Till version 112 I used this in my userChrome.css to get back the close buttons on tabs, but only when I hover over them (active or inactive tabs): .tab-close-button{ display: none } .tabbrowser-tab:not([pinned]):hover .tab-close-button{

But now with version 113.0.1 it doesn't work at all and no X appears when I hover over my tabs.

I tried adding #tabbrowser-tabs[closebuttons="activetab"] on top of the previous code, but it made the X appear all the time.

How could I update this code so I get the desired result only when I hover over a tab?

I run Firefox on a #Windows 10 Dell laptop. I have a question and a problem, both of which involve Private Browsing.

Question: Does Screenshot work in Private Browsing? If so, how do I enable it.

Problem: When I'm in Private Browsing, my headphones aren't recognized; in normal browsing,the headphones are recognized. is this a Firefox problem or a Dell problem?

On 112, I had my css set up to make the status bar hidden and only show the url path when I moused over it in the lower left corner of the window. It also cut itself short to only the length of the url similar to the www.wikipedia.org box in the attached picture. After upgrading to 113, my browser has this black bar at the bottom. When I cleared out my css file, urls would show up in the bar when I moused over them. I've tried a few different css fixes but none of them will get it back to how I had it working in 112. The picture attached is what I'm getting in 113 right now with the css below. the black bar below the mouse over url goes all the way across the window and is always visible. For the past few weeks, Firefox has started crashing when logging into various websites. I've updated Firefox, cleared cookies etc, reinstalled Firefox, opened it in Troubleshooting mode, updated my OS, disabled extensions... everything I can think of. After some sleuthing, it seems to only happen when trying to log into a website. Doesn't happen on every site, which is weird.

This is so frustrating, please help!

I'm on the ESR and just updated from 112.0.2 to 113.0.1. I had text rather than icons displayed on my toolbar. Now the text has vanished and I can't find a way to get text OR icons back. I have a disabled extension Classic Theme Restorer installed, but I thought it was already disabled long ago. In the Customize Toolbar dialog, the unused icons are displayed with text labels. When I drag one to the toolbar, it turns invisible like all the rest.

I been having problems with firefox using up most of my cpu while browsing some websites and it doesn't even load as fast as before. This has been happening for a few days now. Prior to this, firefox was fine and loading pretty quick, but these last few days have been painful.

Thinking that was a small bug, i restarted my computer. Before opening the firefox again, I opened up task manager to check how much resources will the browser be using. Before that usage would be normal and not even close to high, but opening firefox and waiting a few seconds to let the home window appear, the task manager showed that it was using all of it still.

I browsed some other help questions on this website and disabled "Use recommended performance settings", because that was one of the solutions on one of the relevant questions. But even that didn't do reduce resource usage either. Is there any way to fix this or will I have to suck it up and suffer with slow loading?

Last Tuesday, Win 11 AND Firefox both updated on the same day, Firefox to 113.0.1. Ever since, my Firefox has experienced SIGNIFICANT lag time loading even the most basic of websites. It feels like Netscape 1.0 slow (yes, I'm that old). I've disabled 2/3ds of my addons to see if that would help and it hasn't. I don't know if it's an issue with the Win 11 update (KB5026372), with Firefox or some combination of both, but any help in addressing this issue would be greatly appreciated.

My old PC crashed and I want to transfer my bookmarks from the old hard drive to my new PC running windows 11. I have unlocked hidden files, but when I ran drive:\Users\username\AppData\roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles nothing came up. I then ran places.sqlite and a list of places.sqlite appeared with some files having -wal &-shm after them?

I believe from reading here this is where my bookmarks are?

If so, how do I transfer them to my existing PC hard drive to use please? Many thanks Chris

Just recently, in the past day or so, when I do a search in the search box, all the results get redirected to Bing instead of Google, that I have in my settings as default. I have checked my settings, I even removed Bing from the list, and I still only get Bing results. Even when I go to Google and use their search box on their domain, I get Bing results. I did a virus scan without finding any problems. I'm stumped and don't understand why this happened and nothing I do can detect uncovers why this is happening.

Really irritating when I have to spend my time fixing stuff that is lurking in cyberspace!

in the manifest.json of the extension, it does open the settings.html page as intended. Problem is that no JS script on settings.html works, be it if it's inline HTML or as a separate file (I tried separate file, as I thought it might be a security thing).

I mean even simple JS such as console.log or

I'm at my wits end, I have googled, I have chatted with the ChatGPT, took me hours thinking it was something wrong with my code... I'm actually making something useful, never done before (it reads out youtube subtitles via TTS, providing ability to still hear original sound, its emotions, no need to look at the screen and it's also a passive language learning type of thing), and it works, it's just that setting page's JS, which I think I need to allow users change speed of TTS and volume of the TTS

How do I permanently remove this new Bing search engine from Firefox Browser? I don't like Bing. I go into settings, and change my default search engine to Google. But, the moment I search for something it shows that its Bing in the top left corner of the page. I can't get rid of it. Please help! I really don't like Bing! It has never fully helped me find what I'm looking for, or been thorough when searching for what something means. Can you please help me remove Bing from Firefox Browser? I sent 2 images showing what I mean. The first shows me wanting to use google to search for a word. And, in the second is what happens after I do that. Since `monospace` means something diffrent on every device, and I need consistency between clients I use `Roboto Mono` on my Website as ASCII-Art font. For some reason Firefox on Windows cannot render the font properly (view image). What can i do to fix this? The problem presists across my desktop and Laptop. Two days ago, my firefox browser started not restoring the previous sessions. I changed nothing in the configuration and I don't remember I had a crash. The option "Restore Previous Session" does not appear in the "3-bar menu > history" and it appears grayed in the History Firefox main menu.

What I've already tried or verified following the instructions of mozilla forum: 1) Settings > general > “Open previous windows and tabs” is checked as it always have been; I unchecked and and rechecked but nothing changed; 2) Settings > Privacy & Security > “remember history” is selected. Also tried to Settings > Privacy & Security > "Use custom settings for history" with "Always use Private Browsing mode" not checked. No success 3) I also deleted sessionstore-backups folder under my profile. The new created folder, even after closing some new sessions, has only the "recovery.jsonlz4" and "recovery.baklz4" files. There is no "previous.jsonlz4" inside which seems weird. 4) through about:config I checked that browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash was true. In fact, I have Firefox in a second computer with no sessions restoring problem. I compared all browser.sessionstore.xxxx variables and the values are the same.

I still have the problem and do not know what to try next. Reset Firefox?

i cant move the tabs around in the task bar. my firefox version is up to date, but yesterday-ish my laptop forcibly updated itself. its still on windows ten, but thats the only thing i can think of other than installing a kidpix four emulator that may have caused the problem

I've just had to completely reinstall windows without being able to backup my files (I couldn't launch my computer in order to actually back them up) meaning I've lost my recovery codes. I thought this would be fine as I could just sign back into firefox on this new install of Windows but as it turns out I must've forgotten to put my sign in information into my password manager. Again, I thought this would be okay as I still have access to the email I used to sign up to my firefox sync but I got the message saying I'd lose my data which isn't fine and now I'm at a bit of a loss. I've had to use a spare email to make an account and ask here but I'd really love my old account back. Is there any way at all I can get back into my account without losing my bookmarks and passwords? If not, how much information would I end up actually losing? I'm slightly unclear on that part. Do I lose absolutely everything? I'm a bit stressed about all of this ontop of losing all of my old computer files so I'm sorry if this is a commonly asked question but I was struggling to find anything that helped me D:

I've imported around 200+ passwords from another web browser as '.csv file' in Firefox from option of 'import from a file.'

During the import, I was logged into my Firefox account as well.

But, after resetting PC, I downloaded the Firefox and logged on with my Firefox account, and there are only 29 passwords showing up, rest of the passwords are not there.

And, now I do not have access to that .csv file as well.

I am on Windows 11 and had reset my PC with option to 'Keep My Files' so there is no data loss as per my side or on the hard disk drive.

Please help me to get those passwords back. They are extremely important to me.
