The people who asked this question 3 years ago were given a "chosen solution", which didn't work then. And 3 years later the underlying problem is still not fixed. Last week I tried a new solution which meant messing around with the Firefox settings. And it worked - until the next time I restarted the computer.

I copy and paste in many of my activities, which interact with external websites e.g. discussion groups. The current frustration is a discussion about Adobe, which means copying text from one window to another. It does not happen. Unless this is permanently sorted in the next couple of days, regretfully I shall switch to a workable browser, e.g. Chrome. I cannot afford the waste of time repeatedly researching then not fixing a failing feature.

On Google Docs, the very useful shortcut "Alt+/" for executing menu actions by name exists, similar M-x in Emacs or Ctrl+Shift+A in PyCharm or Ctrl+Shift+P in VS Code.

On a German keyboard, there is no "/" key. In Chrome the hotkey "Alt+#" works instead. In Firefox, it does not.

This hotkey is particularly important, because it gives quick access to menu actions, that have no hotkey assigned, or for which the hotkey does not work on the current layout.

Is there something I can do to make it work?

Note. Based on what I know, I cannot tell if this is an issue with Firefox not sending the Alt+# key correctly, a special feature of Chrome that isn't present in Firefox, or a cross-browser compatibility issue of Google Docs, that should be blamed on Google Docs and not Firefox.

Firefox 114.0.2 (64-bit), running on Open Suse 15.3, 64 bit.

I have a 'site' that is just files on my hard drive.

I need to click an anchor link such as: Store Your Files Here and have Firefox open the folder dir4 with the systems file manager. ( In my case the file manager is Nautilus ) ( Ubuntu 20.04 )

I have seen this: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Links_to_local_pages_do_not_work but it does not describe a scenario that uses the file:/// interface.

It also does not provide any information about how the files will be handled.

I can get the folder link to work currently , but it appears with the: 'Index of file///...' in a browser tab.

Obviously you can not use that for anything useful.

The main goal is to open the folder and be able to use the system file manager to include more content for the site without having to navigate to the folder manually. The folders I want to display are buried many levels down without the possibility of having descriptive names. I have ~121 pages/folders in this arrangement , and each one has content for each page. I would like to add a button on each of the 121 pages that will open each of the pages content folder.

I tried to log in to a website that requires access to my location. I'm using Firefox 114.02 on an iMac running Monterey 12.6.7. I was able to get in to Firefox's Location settings and now have the website listed with "Allow" noted. This was not enough, and for some time I didn't understand why. Then I discovered the Mac's System Preferences' Security and Privacy section, where Location Services are one category under Privacy. Selecting Location Services brings up a list of apps that are allowed to provide location information. For some reason, other browsers are on the list and can be turned on or off, but Firefox is not on the list of apps that can be selected as permitted. Am I missing something here? I can't find any way to add apps to the list so that they can actually be selected. Any advice?

Never had an issue with my Gmail sidebar calendar loading automatically on Firefox. With the latest Mozilla update to 114.0.2 for my Mac, the calendar sidebar flashes the calendar icon but fails to load. The other sidebar apps are functional. Steps: - Type anything into address bar (or navigate to a webpage) - Select any text in address bar - Copy the text (either with Ctrl+C or right-click menu) - Try to paste in any app besides Firefox

Expected behavior: - The copied text will paste

Outcome: - No text is pasted - No new entry is shown in the KDE clipboard

Any link on any webpage that I try to copy also exhibits this behavior. However, if I just select normal text on a webpage and copy it, everything works as intended. Maybe there's an issue with copying things that Firefox labels as "links"?

I get this error when trying to access my email using FireFox. Lately this (or a similar) error happens weekly if not every couple of days. Always first thing in the morning, too.

my email works just fine using Safari so I am at a loss.

I have tried running FF (Firefox) in safe mode, ensuring outlook.live.com is an exception to the pop up window blocker, changed default protections on outlook dot com to none from standard.... Turned off ABP, clearing cache and cookies from within FF.

it may be worth mentioning that I can still browse/access other websites while outlook produces this error, and my network settings within FF are set to use default system settings (no proxy).

Just updated to Firefox 114 from version 113 on Fedora 37 and spotted difference in the font rendering using the old profile.

On Firefox 114, the fonts are larger. I could not make it the same as in Firefox 113, despite all the configuration in the profile is the same. Downgrading to Firefox 113 return the previous font size/rendering.

However, in Firefox 114 there's a font difference even between my old profile and fresh new profile. The font configuration in the settings is exactly the same between these two profiles (default profile, Latin and Cyrillic — the same font families, sizes, checkboxes, i've even checked about:config options searching by "font" — all the same).

Check the screenshots.

I have seen this question "answered" but I am unable to get the "answer". How CAN I REMOVE an OLD EMAIL ADDRESS from autofull? WHY is the "answer" not available? I have changed ALL of my email addresses in "Logins & Passwords" for autofill but somewhere the others are HIDING & still being used by autofill.

WHERE ARE THOSE UNUSED, EMAIL ADDRESSES FOR AUTOFILL HIDING?

I am sick and tired of having to keep changing the email address in online forms as autofill keeps using the old, unavailable email address I no longer have access to. WERE ARE the autofull email addresses HIDING?

WHY can't I remove Email addresses for autofull I can no longer use?

WHERE ARE THOSE AUTOFILL EMAIL ADDRESSES HIDING??????

It is very frustrating to see that this question has been "answered" but the "answer" is not available, there is NO LINK to the "F" "answer"!!!

Firefox 114.0, Windows 11 Home Version 10.0.22621 Build 22621 , 1Password-4.6.2.626 extension

Today, for reasons unknown, my 1Password extension, (an old and non-updatable version that I've used for many, many years), is non-responsive. The icon still resides in the Tool Bar, Windows ToolTips "sees" it as "1Password", but clicking on the icon has no effect. The extension is shown as Enabled in Firefox's Manage Your Extensions page.

I think I've tried all the "usual" things here: rebooted the computer, uninstalled and re-installed the extension and rebooting, checked the setting in 1Password itself to see that it's associated with "Mozilla Firefox 114.0", (the program still opens fine outside the browser).

This seems to be related to Firefox 114.0. On my other computer with the same Windows 11 version but using Firefox 113.0.1 had no problem with 1Password, but as soon as Firefox updated to 114.0 the same problem with 1Password appeared.

Anything that I might be able to do to get 1Password working?

I am using Arlo security cameras which store the video captures as MP4 files. The Arlo app has video playback feature that works in Chrome or Edge but does not work in FireFox. From what I have been abe to glean from searches, Arlo uses HEVC Codec that FireFox either isn't compatible with or is lacking the codec. Any suggestions?
