Hi, for me the most intuitive behavior for creating new tabs is to insert after current when using the keyboard shortcut, and inserting at the end when clicking the plus sign at the end of the row. I'm making the switch from Chrome and the Open New Tab Here extension enables this distinction. Curious if there's an existing solution, or would an additional config setting be required?

Now on Firefox 100.0.1 On earlier versions of Firefox I was able to set a particular url for my home(opening) page. That is still true. However, on past versions I was also able to make *my home page* appear on every tab I opened. On the current edition I get a choice of only Firefox Home Page (default) or Blank page. I cannot get my home page on the new tab. How can I bypass the restrictions of the settings under Home to get my home page on every tab?

That the question I need an answer to. Everything below this is explanation of why I want this and a complaint about how Firefox changes things that I would appreciate being passed on to the developers.

                                                                    <---------------------->

If I choose Firefox Home Page (default), I am *forced* to use the address box to put in my search terms. I have become accustomed to the various search engines with their splash screens - with the nice big search box in the middle of the screen (both horizontally and vertically). It is absolutely unnerving to me to try to type in the box in the middle and have nothing show up there but up above in the address box.

I am a project person in a multi-tasking world, which means whether I like it or not, I have to multitask too. For me to do this successfully, all my tools need to be where I expect and perform as I expect them. Even putting duckduckgo.com in the current home page/new window setting, doesn't get the duckduckgo splash page, but even though I'm not that technically advanced, I found a way of getting it in my home page window. However, the tabs section doesn't offer me an opportunity to put my own choice in.

I wish Firefox would stop tinkering with otherwise minor things. I understand fixing found vulnerabilities. I understand providing new services and technology when they're developed. But why force people to use search and tabs the way Firefox wants them to rather than the way the user is accustomed to.

When you have a number of pinned tabs that you want to stay and during a session a blank window opens behind your current active session (or you open one for some reason and forget it is open), when you close your main session (with all the pinned tabs) and find the single open blank tab session - if you close that window the next time you open Firefox it does not open all your saved tabs and you don't have the option to "restore previous session" with all the tabs because it remembers the blank window session.

Since the Firefox 100 update, I have had issues with Firefox connecting to Google and its subdomains. When the browser is first started, all google domains work fine. After a few minutes though, a dialog at the top of G-mail (multiple accounts) appears stating it wants to re-connect, and will try and reconnect indefinitely with no success until the browser is closed and reopened. Also, calendar will stop working, and attempting to connect to any other google service (search, keep, drive, etc.) results in no DNS resolve, with sometimes the search bar URL changing to "about:blank." I have tried resetting the browser and re-installation (both at a user and administrative permission level) with no avail. Is this a known problem, or is it suspected there is another culprit here? It is worth noting that this is my company laptop, and that my coworker has also recently began running into this issue.

Thanks!

During an online transaction I get into a loop where Firefox reports "Firefox prevented this page from reloading automatically". I respond with Allow but the situation repeats. I have changed the settings to standard for this particular website, but the problem persists and appears to be the reason that the transaction eventually fails. What other settings or adjustments do I need to make to allow Firefox to automatically reload a page on a trusted site?

Thank you for your patience on this particular matter. Any solutions?

Short ver. of the problem: with a designated profile, I cannot launch a new window of an already running firefox using shortcut. Error msg "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. ...". I have to first active the firefox window and then use Ctrl+N, which is very annoying considering someone has to open/close many new windows a day.

Details: Here is my environment: in windows 10, say, I have three copies of firefox programs with their own profiles for different purposes. Something like this: D:\Firefox 1, this is the firefox program itself. D:\Firefox 2 D:\Firefox 3 D:\Profiles\1, this is the profile folder named as "1" D:\Profiles\2 D:\Profiles\3

I then use shortcut to launch each firefox, creating a shortcut then add options in the target line. Like this: D:\Firefox 1\firefox.exe -no-remote -profile D:\Profiles\1 D:\Firefox 2\firefox.exe -no-remote -profile D:\Profiles\2 D:\Firefox 3\firefox.exe -no-remote -profile D:\Profiles\3

I then use autohotkey to designate a particular hotkey to each firefox. Like this: Alt+1, launch firefox 1 Alt+2, launch firefox 2 Alt+3, launch firefox 3

The overall goal is to have complete separate operations.

The issue, I first use alt+1 or double click the shortcut with launch options to launch a firefox. Then, if I need to open another window of an already running firefox, which is minimized to the taskbar, I have to first activate the firefox window and then click ctrl+n. If I use the Alt+1 or double click the shortcut with launch options, an error msg pops saying, "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. ..." The ideal behavior is to use shortcut to launch a new window.

Thank you guys!

Up until the latest updates a week or two ago, UPS tracking worked fine. However, with version 100.x, UPS stopped working. All is get is the error message, "We are unable to complete your tracking request at this time. Please try again later.". I tried other older tracking numbers that I know are good, and the same error. However, UPS tracking using Chrome or Explorer/Edge works fine.

I could blame UPS, but both Chrome and Explorer/Edge does work.

Apparently, Firefox is sending a (buggy) request that UPS doesn't like.

Thanks, Bill

I once found a live bug opened for this, but I don't find it anymore.

The spell checking dictionary, as many pointed out, is horrible. It lacks tons of common words, as well as commonly used tech, internet, you name it - jargon words.

Is there (there should be) a repository to add missing words? Through my usage I add words to my private dictionary. Would be shame not to use this as part of this bug handling.

I experience the exact same issue as [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../1311714] since I've updated to Firefox 100 on macOS.

E.g. I get a page not fully loaded.

myheritage.fr works fine in private browsing and on iOS.

I tried to reload the page bypassing the cache and force a fresh retrieval: Mac=Command+Shift+R

It works "fine" for the current page. However, when I go to another page of the website then the new page gets broken.

I also tried to :

  • Clear cache and local storage
  • Deactivate plugins and themes
  • Change the Network.dns.disablePrefetch value
  • Change the dom.storage.next_gen value
  • Use the safe mode
  • Use the recovery option

None of the above work. Not to mention that the website works well in private browsing and on safari.

Thank you in advance for your help.
