I want to: - Delete cookies, logins and cache of all not specifically allowed websites when closing the browser - Automatically delete the browser history of anything thats older than 'n' days or entries - Preferably do this without having to use an addon

I have set places.history.expiration.max_pages, however even on a really low value it does not seem to delete any older items from the history.

For deleting cookies and cache I have a problem understanding how the 2 sections in the settings interact (Cookies and Site Data and History) and how I would manage to delete everything except the whitelisted cookies.

I reset my computer and made a new firefox profile, and I only imported my bookmarks, passwords and history. When I try signing into instagram, WITH the correct sign in credentials the page resets without an error message or anything. Signing in is like, impossible and it seems like whenever I try to sign in it refreshes each time. My logins are saved and cleared cookies/ cache but nothing seems to work! Is there anything I can do?

I currently have a setting checked telling Firefox to delete all cookies when closing. I want to set some exceptions but cannot uncheck that setting hence I cannot make the exceptions. So how can I make exceptions so as to save some cookies upon closing? Please be specific as I am not familiar with a lot of assumed firefox computer jargon. Thanks

I tried to add a new credit card to my subscription account on the www.everydropwater.com website. My attempts failed twice for no apparent reason. I called their customer support at 1-800-442-9991 and described my problem. They asked me which browser I was using. I told them "Firefox". They said that's the problem, their credit card update function simply does not work under Firefox!

I was appalled that they know their site doesn't work under a popular browser, yet they don't seem to care or be interested in fixing their site!

Can you folks fix this problem? (I felt like a traitor when I downloaded and used Chrome to get around it.)

I'm using 64-bit Firefox 112.0.1 under Windows 10 version 22H2 on a Dell laptop.

Thanks!!

Every time I open a video on a website and try and enter fullscreen mode, it never lets me exit fullscreen mode. Then I have to close the entire window. Also, sometimes I have to refresh the page once or twice to even get in to fullscreen mode. Google is only showing me stuff about Firefox fullscreen mode, NOT fullscreen mode for videos, which is the actual problem.

When I try to sign onto G mail I get redirected URL to YouTube. I do not want to sign onto youtube. I do not have a account with youtube. I started getting this error about 3 months ago. I have used Firefox and Google for ages - no problems. Using Windows 11. No problems signing into Google Mail using Microsoft Edge or Chrome. In windows 11 not using proxy server. " automatically detect settings" in proxy settings is on, found in the proxy settings page.

A error page pops up and I get the following:

The URL of the pop up error message reads:

https://accounts.youtube.com/accounts/SetSID?ssdc=1&sidt=ALWU2csEj2zpnizjrFGU3h9sNBNMtCvG4rtlKGP7g3eJ4xKhQO4U/EOyONt9IXvqALsn1cLSYza0iX7flqtYP4j4 coy5uhbPqr8lAUIs8JsN0K2yQi7pOMoNkOLJ%2B8l6RHdc5J7xKdZ5nveOBcU%2BA77TUTUtVkeujdhp672cGdTPnCCCLXlwFyqu%2Bv9cSY91kSk4kNF1hpoXJjSwdETffFF8Q6iT%2Bj0r xYrzTiO0j7T3rBpuHUp6Cf7RSD9MN3P1aNSTx3s27hhNd5xheyuYS8X0NPbMErMXecXDgT7EsdCi93Z5V4EwWoS70/vrD6Mdt8%2BabAvK0nt6aFdnizKrA3UJFOHH22kS4Zzni0BjikNi24 SXncaLKgs594Ful6g%2BUWYhDGXznFL2437g8tZnw/pL1LMdwRYG/XJx6ZbhmS9G5nBppfnF4dlNb1z4oKQwtnOQucw5MImHn7Dc4ADC2DgZtdMOTVeUvQ%3D%3D& continue=https://mail.google.com/mail/&tcc=1&ifkv=AWnogHfqStXCgyKf8fiIUn0S691FyRlapg4PIo0dOKpR6eiCvsguai0YJ2hX8EkK_h2C3_AjRC4r5w

The error message reads:

Did Not Connect: Potential Security Issue

Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to accounts.youtube.com because this website requires a secure connection.

What can you do about it?

accounts.youtube.com has a security policy called HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS), which means that Firefox can only connect to it securely.

You can’t add an exception to visit this site.

The issue is most likely with the website, and there is nothing you can do to resolve it. You can notify the website’s administrator about the problem.

Websites prove their identity via certificates. Firefox does not trust this site because it uses a certificate that is not valid for accounts.youtube.com.

The certificate is only valid for the following names: *.safezone.mcafee.com, safezone.mcafee.com

Error code: SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN

If I hit the "back" button on the error message Google Mail will open.

This is crazy. I use FF both for Android and PC. I started realising that some passwords were for the wrong site. I have a different password for each website which I mentally compute. When I saw that websites weren't letting me in with saved passwords, I went to see the password manager and the saved password IS definitively one of my passwords, since it is in the right format, but certainly IS NOT for that website. It only happened for at least 3 websites, more like 5-6 (it started by me having to reset several passwords, which I never had to do before) so it could not possibly have been me saving a wrong password for a different site by mistake. I don't think it could be done even if I wanted to. I checked random entries in the password manager and all seem to be ok, except the ones I remembered were wrong. I think it is Firefox for Windows that is doing this, since one of these sites I access only from PC. But clearly, I can't be sure, since they synchronise across platforms. Most wierd that no one else complains about this problem. I can't think of how I could be doing this myself. Thanks for any help

Hi all, I cannot sync ma password to a different system. Firefox states that my account is "disconnected", I cannot change this status even with multiple tries to login. If I go to Sync I can chose to login "again". If I do so nothing changes. Even with muliple tries. Do you have any idea how I can debug this? BTW: There seemes to be some polices in place even if i'm in no organisation.

All non-Firefox web pages (40+) are in DARK mode. (Black background, etc.). While I used to prefer this, I have found that some websites have information that doesn't show up. So, I need to revert to standard Light Mode for websites. So, I have confirmed on my PC: - Windows 10 settings are set to Light Mode. - Firefox Appearance Settings are set to Light. - Firefox Themes have Light Mode selected and enabled.

The Result: - All my Firefox webpages and Settings, etc., follow the Firefox settings. If I change the Theme, for example, they all follow. - Non-Firefox webpages (40+) do NOT change. With all the above: No impact. They remain Dark, with black backgrounds. Rebooting doesn't change anything.

Somehow, I previously changed a prior computer having the same issue. I don't remember what I discovered (hidden) that did the trick. I remember it wasn't the Theme option. (PLEASE fix this, so that THEMES over-ride).

I have my Firefox accounts Synced (on several computers and phone). Is this a root of my problem?

Please assist.

Thank you.

I've tried following both methods for dissabling the mute button on tabs, it's a slight annoyance, since it's easy to accidentally mute a tab when it's pinned.

Specifically, the first method I've tried changing the setting in about:config called "browser.tabs.showAudioPlayingIcon" from true to false, which was from 7 years ago it seems, which had no effect.

The second method was by making a new rule in a "userChrome.css" file in a new folder called "chrome" with that exact naming, case sensitive. The code in that file is as follows:

/* Hide the mute/unmute button */
.tab-icon-overlay:not([pinned], [sharing], [crashed]):is([soundplaying], [muted]) {
    display: none !important;
}
/* Keep site icon visible on hover */
.tabbrowser-tab:hover .tab-icon-stack:not([pinned], [sharing], [crashed]):is([soundplaying], [muted]) > :not(.tab-icon-overlay),
     /* for site icon with Compact density */
:root[uidensity="compact"] .tab-icon-stack:not([pinned], [sharing], [crashed]):is([soundplaying], [muted]) > :not(.tab-icon-overlay) {
    opacity: 1 !important; /* overrides full transparency with full opacity */
}

If there's an updated version of the code that's meant to have that effect in modern firefox, then please let me know, or if there's some other new way of removing the mute button on tabs. Thanks.
