I have been using Firefox as my default browser in Windows for a number of years without problems until recently. However I now find that, when I log on to sites where I have accounts, I am not automatically signed in. When I select sign in I am taken to a sign-in page where, on some accounts, , my usernames and passwords are already filled in. I have tried following Firefox guidelines with regard to settings and options, all to no avail. Can you assist me please.

Hi folks.

I use Firefox a lot. I have about 36 windows of firefox open and some of those can have a LOT of tabs on/in them.

I have recently "evolved" to using a computer monitor. Before then it was an old flat screen TV - 1336 x 768 resolution (there about).

Now I have a 1080p monitor and things are different.

I use Node-Red (dashboards) and they took a beating with the new size.

I've set THOSE tabs to 133% magnification - and yes that isn't the correct size to emulate the TV. But I only thought of doing this a fair way down the track of trying to rearrange the layouts. (MY MISTAKE)

But I realised that at least not too long down that rabbit hole.

So that WINDOW is set to 133% zoom. But just now I tried to zoom out of another tab on that window and realised that the zoom on the other tabs is changed too.  :(

Am I missing any tricks? I know I could move THOSE tabs to a whole new window and that's that. But in the bigger picture I just want to check.

I have set four custom URLs to open each time I use my main Firefox profile - this works well. (I have several different profiles I use for different roles and sets of logins).

I frequently open new windows to hold a set of associated tasks.

If I specifically open a link into a new window, the new window only has that one tab - all good.

However, if I just open a new window (Ctrl-N), Firefox always opens four new duplicate tabs for my custom URLs.

Is there a way to limit custom URLs to the first window opened in a profile or to open custom URLs only if they are not already open in at least one window?

Prior to Firefox 116, I could have the normal scrollbar up and down buttons showing by making:

widget.non-native-theme.gtk.scrollbar.allow-buttons True

But now it seems to have no effect. This is under Linux/Mint/Cinnamon. Also, now long-pressing is doing smooth scrolling (I never want smooth scrolling anywhere) and can't find a way to stop that.

I have these set from before:

widget.gtk.overlay-scrollbars.enabled false widget.non-native-theme.gtk.scrollbar.round-thumb false widget.non-native-theme.gtk.scrollbar.thumb-size .85 widget.non-native-theme.scrollbar.size 14 widget.non-native-theme.scrollbar.size.override 14 general.smoothScroll false general.smoothScroll.other false general.smoothScroll.lines false general.smoothScroll.pages false general.smoothScroll.pixels false general.smoothScroll.mouseWheel false mousewheel.system_scroll_override.enabled false toolkit.scrollbox.smoothScroll false ui.scrollToClick 0

Any suggestions appreciated.

Seems like it is always a fight retaining usable scrollbars in Firefox that do not hide, do not change size on mouse-over, do not "warp" on left click, do warp on center click, have a thumb that shows page size, have a background that is not white, and are not microscopic in size! Just call me "traditional"  :)

Thanks

Is there any way to limit the storage space in cache2 taken by a particular extension? The Ghostery extension has nearly a gigabyte of storage taken up there on my system and shows no signs of slowing down.

I already have an overall limit on firefox's cache storage allowance. The problem is it's being monopolized by this extension.

So I understand why shift right click opens the context menu, and its been useful to me when I need it, but I'd like the option to disable it for trusted websites, or just a toggle I can turn on and off when needed. Even tucked into advanced options. For reference, its an issue when I play littlewargame, a browser based RTS game. Shift is how you que commands, so target firing specific units in order or setting multiple move commands requires me to hold shift, and right click multiple times. Obviously having the context menu pop up every time is an issue. Any chance that could be made into a toggle somewhere? Does anyone know of an extension that adds that option if it isn't built in?

Thanks in advance <3

I am in the United States. My machine is on Windows 22H2 (OS Build) 19045.3208. My version of FFox is 116.0 (64-bit).

My firefox was getting very booged down after months of usage and I complete uninstalled and reinstalled, and now Recommend by Pocket does not show up either on my Home Page, or as an option to add it.

Googling around, the two most common fixes I have seen is to fix this are:

1) Click the Personalize button in the upper right corner of the new tab page and toggle Recommended by Pocket to on, but the option does not appear there. See attached screenshot. 2) Type about:config in address bar, then browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.feeds.section.topstories, and set to true. This was already in effect. See attached screenshot.

Anything else I can try to enable it? I really like it and I miss it.
