Hi. Today after booting up the laptop I got the message in the screenshot from Avast antivirus. Can you help me determine whether it is a false positive? I opened firefox once, I had no connection to the internet (website not found errors), then closed firefox, opened it again and then the message popped up.

When I login into some WEB site it goes in to an endless loop continues? It used to work before you forced the download of version of 0esr, when the old none 0esr worked fine. As a example: I am trying to login to xcelenergy.com site and it keeps flipping back and forth with these two lines ( parts of lines deleted because you might get into my account )in the address bar -

1. - https://my.xcelenergy.com/MyAccount/MyAccount_Proxy?context=us1_tk1...............parts deleted.........................client_id=JnU2RjC15thihnMDrOyzKzvH&mode=login&scope=openid+profile+email+salesforceInfo&gig_skipConsent=true

2. - https://my.xcelenergy.com/MyAcco...........................parts deleted......................._MA_Template

I have included the 2 of screen captures that it flip's through of maybe a another 2 screens (can not tell, it flips through to fast).

The site I am login into: my.xcelenergy.com
Firefox version using now: 115.6.0esr (64-bit) or the 32bit Version, I tried both. Then load an old back version it works fine but then it gets upgrade to the new version again.
my version of windows: 8.1, with all Firefox ad blockers and other ad blockers turned off or on does not matter.
The reason I will not upgrade my software is that I would have to buy a lot of new software upgrades that I use, and can

not afford at this time on my retirement.

Re your (partial email & apology) sent to me by mistake:

"Greetings, It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. You know what else was humbling? Sending out an email by mistake, full of out-of-context Sagan quotes being used as placeholder text (thank you, Sagan Ipsum)."

So I looked for the humor in it, but then remembered that since you "partner" with the cursed WEF, it's more likely an expression of a severe mental illness that characterizes all who "partner" with them, & thus only deranged types might find funny.

I've seen nothing that specifically says this can or cannot be done. It makes sense to me, a non-tech person, though. Why -- or how if it's now possible -- can I sync certain files I select between 2 or more computers? For example, I'd like my "Documents" to be the same on my computers. But I see no reference to doing that. Sub-text: IF that were possible, will Firefox automatically sync so that the resulting file is the most recent version (assuming identical file names)? OR, will Firefox bring all individual files if they are different in any way even if they have the same file name?

Thank you.

I have a laptop and use Mozilla Firefox as my browser. I am having trouble with Amazon.com Prime Video, my homepage states it thinks I am traveling. Nothing has changed. The problem comes and goes but I can't figure out a pattern. Amazon has not helped during calls or chats, it is a mystery. Because Amazon thinks I am traveling I cannot view most video content such as Starz channel, I am limited. Any tips? Thanks!

Where or to whom can I send a request / recommendation / beg to get the Firefox browser actually to change something? I know what the community will say -- asked and answered. And no disrespect to the community at all -- it's very valuable and has been helpful to me -- but I am interested in putting this request before someone at Mozilla / Firefox who actually has the authority to decide it and do it.

FYI, not to be too mysterious about it, I think the Privacy & Security setting on Notifications would be improved by putting in a permanent option to let a user stop notifications when he or she has taken a screen shot. Allowing it to be paused now requires the user to go back in and change the setting each time he or she opens Firefox. For me, that's dozens of times a day.

On a broader scale, why not give the user the option permanently? We are, I hope, a land and community of people who prefer choice over mandates, even partial ones, when the substance of the choice or mandate does not pose a risk to others.

Thanks.

Prior to the last two <Firefox> updates (too many, too frequently!), no problem. Both keyboard and mouse were recognized. Since then, only the mouse, although everything's fine when I use Chrome.

Yes, I'm on the latest version, and have cleared caches and rebooted ... after every new version.

I'm getting warning emails (2 so far) that windows 8.1 will no longer be supported after I think the end of this year and that I should buy windows 11. Since I use firefox exclusively, does this warning affect me? I'm not very computer savvy and am not sure what is the relationship mozilla firefox to windows (I think it's microsoft windows). I guess this computer has windows 8.1 but I'm not sure. Also, awhile back, microsoft edge showed up on my laptop but I've never even opened it, not even sure what it is. Not sure exactly when but I bought this Asus laptop but it's been several years. Thank you very much for any instruction and/or advice you may be able to give me. Randy Boone. Windows 8.1 would not load last Wednesday, so I "refreshed" it using F10; which stated all files and apps would be retained (what a lie.) Most apps were disabled, or removed, and needed to be re-loaded, as well as about 200 updates which needed to be downloaded, and still being downloaded. When re-loading Firefox my previous bookmarks were not retained, although I think may have located them via a Microsoft remedy (Firefox remedies have been fruitless.) They are not not the old Firefox folder (my most recent entry was 2019,) and not in the places Firefox has suggested looking. I will backup my current 5 days worth of bookmarks, when all of the downloads are current, and try to download the Microsoft suggestion. My question is; why are they NOT automatically saved? And if somebody has a remedy for me please send it as I will not do anything with my bookmarks for a few days.

Windows 8.1 Firefox 102.0.1 Clean install with a brand new profile

Noodling around about:config I discovered that the boolean value browser.sessionstore.enabled does not exist.

Interestingly though, it's numerical partner browser.sessionstore.interval does exist and was set to 15000. (15000 miliseconds = 15 seconds)

I was planning to increase this interval significantly. However...

It is my understanding that browser.sessionstore.enabled must be set to true for browser.sessionstore.interval to have any effect.

So what gives? Why is there a browser.sessionstore.interval set to 15000 when the prerequisite browser.sessionstore.enabled does not even exist?
