Hi there! I've spent the better part of my evening following various troubleshooting techniques and tips, but none of them have worked. I've refreshed firefox, restarted everything. I am someone who turns my computer off regularly as well, so that isn't a factor.

As I am typing this, the issue is happening.

Every time I try to type longer than a sentence, especially in email, and only in firefox (I have tried several different browsers to see if it was an issue elsewhere, but it's only local to firefox), firefox slows right down. It isn't just email, either. I tested it on a tweet, tested it on other websites, just randomly typing and it continues to happen.

I'll be typing and the words will take 10-15 seconds to appear on the screen, and my computer makes a weird whirring noise. I am positive that it's a CPU issue for firefox only, but even following all of the steps listed in the help section, it still happens. And now I'm at a little bit of a loss of what to do.

I have a HP computer, and use Windows 11, and plenty of RAM (the computer is less than a year old).

If anyone is able to help, that would be wonderful.

Thank you so much.

There is one site that I have just started to have problems with but works in Chrome. The link to the site is https://www.godigitalscrapbooking.com/store/. I used to log in here daily with no problems, but now I get a glimpse of the Welcome screen then a blank page. I can log into their Forum (https://www.godigitalscrapbooking.com/forum/) with not problems at all. I have cleared my cache and my history. The only thing I can think of is that somehow I have managed to block this site but cannot find where that may be.

Within the last 2 weeks I have noticed freezing/glitchy performance on certain websites. Facebook is the worst probably because I spend a lot of time on it. When I click on pictures or memes that a friend has posted the picture will popup but then the X doesn't work to exit back to my FB page. I either have to back-arrow or refresh the whole page and then click on the home button. I was on the RiteAid website a couple of days ago and when I tried to access my cart to delete an item there was an annoying loop going on that wouldn't allow me to proceed or do anything else. On Chrome there was no problem. On Realtor.com when clicking on pictures of listings I am unable to then click on the map (upper left hand corner) to access the map of the property - the links do not work at all. I use a VPN and tried turning that off but did not solve the problem.

Also in my Firefox search bar it has changed from google to microsoft search engine but when I hit the search arrow it has a box that says- a browser seach and then goes to microsoft bing. Can you help me figure out how to get my mozilla back to normal. I love using this and dont want to let it go. Its the best browser ever!!!

An upgrade of Verizon FIOS was recently installed with new routers. Previously, I had no problems with GMail on Firefox. With the new FIOS I cannot use GMail on Firefox at all. It opens, but I cannot delete or close emails after they are opened. Eventually, it just goes dead and I cannot access emails. Verizon's only suggestion was to use a different browser.

I was working in a project where I use the indexedDB API to store the state of some process on the client side until the app could connect to the server. The state of the process is represented by an instance of Object with a heavy nested structure (usually of 4 to 5 layers: some properties of the object instance were arrays of other objects who has more arrays within). The process is being stored in its own ObjectStore with a key path linked to a property of the first layer of the object instance (an uid) and I'm using a put request to update the stored object as the process advances. The problem is that, when the process starts I can store it without any problem and even I can update it as it grows, but when it becomes big enough something goes worng. The put request still is being completed without error events and even the success event is fired but the API stores not an instance of Object but instead of Array (more precisely an array of strings that joined are some kind serialization of the object instance) and with that I can not access to the data of my process reliably.

More important than my description of what is happening in firefox is the observation that in the chromium based browsers this is not happening and my code works as expected and I could maintain the process state as my app runs.

I have my desktop set up to receive notifications from my phone, but today the typical notifications appearance and behavior have changed.

I'm getting a bunch of notifications at once, some have the look I expect, while others look different, the ones with white backgrounds are white and they stacked themselves vertically, one above the other, until they are off screen, until I delete the ones I can see, so they will be revealed.

I just had about six or seven arrive at once, and they froze my desktop. The only things I had access to with the mouse was the reminders, and the only way to free things up was to delete the reminders, one by one.

Some of them come from google assistant reminders I have set, the ones that are twice as big and have a white background. The others are from Firefox, some of which are from Gmail. They look more like the ones I usually get, but I do not have Gmail set to send email notifications, and they are the ones that caused the freezing.

I just recently added Firefox Relay. Could that be responsible?

Here are some examples: Please notice that image with two different looking notifications, but both from he same app:

I am regularly experiencing a frozen cursor when using the Firefox browser. My USB wired mouse stops working, however my laptop touch pad still responds perfectly fine.

I am certain it is related specifically to using the program, and does not occur on my desktop or in other internet browsers.

After opening the browser and loading a webpage, the cursor is often delayed in responding to moving the mouse or stops responding altogether for several moments at a time.

I have tried disabling all add-ons, extensions, and plugins. The problem still occurs when in 'safe mode' or 'troubleshooting mode'.

Please help! This is making the browser impossible to use, and I would prefer not to have to switch to a different browser.

I am using Firefox 106.0.5 (64 bit). I cannot copy an image from Firefox and paste on to the WhatsApp app. The following steps however work:

  • copy the image
  • paste to a document editor (MS-Word) or image editor
  • copy again
  • paste to WhatsApp

Is this an intended change?

Every time I try to open a web page or go back to home page nothing loads. The only way I can get web pages to load is to delete history then they will load. I even tried all settings to delete everything when I close Mozilla, and that only works if I close Mozilla. I don't understand why I have to constantly delete everything before any web pages will load. EXAMPLE: I open Mozilla and it opens to msn.com which is my default home page. I right click on an article to open in new tab and it opens just fine, but when I try another web page it opens blank and nothing loads, I have to delete history, cache basically everything then those pages will load. But as soon as I try to open another I have to delete history etc etc again,to get any to load. Don't really understand why that happens and yes Mozilla is running on current version and yes I have tried to uninstall Mozilla and re install same thing happens.

Does anyone make an effort to survey users before making changes? Some changes are just a bother but others are really imposing costs.

I see the disappearing HOME icon is a recurring problem. So, fine, I've restored the button. But my complicated half-dozen links have also disappeared and I have to reconstruct my HOME pages. Mine are complicated since they are a series of graphs (from Yahoo Finance), each with specific different parameters. It will really take me time to reconstruct this and I really resent that.

Similarly, where on earth did my plug-ins/extensions go? Again, they haven't just disappeared from the toolbar. Once I locate the icon and restore it, I find that they've disappeared from TOOLS > ADD-ONS AND THEMES. I have to go download them again? Why?

Naturally, all of this just happens to land on my plate on a very bad morning. Lesson learned: I'll make a bookmark folder to duplicate what the HOME button should bring up.

What is the point of all this?

Thanks for listening,

Hello.

I have been unable to access product pages of a particular site, I believe, since updated to 106. The pages are viewable with Edge. https://www.officeworks.com.au/ The main page and some pages are fine but all product pages returns "Something went wrong". E.g. Office Supplies/Pencils https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/c/office-supplies/pencils?cm_sp=all:menu:office-supplies:::pencils I would like to know if this is Firefox's or the website's fault if so why.

Firefox 106.0.5 Windows 10 19045.2251
