a few days ago, Firefox stopped playing sounds. Any sounds. not youtube, not on Facebook. Not even porn videos. nothing. i don't remember installing any new software and Chrome plays youtrube sounds just fine. I listen on headphones and when i unjack, i still can only hear Chrome's browser play sounds. It seems like its not my comp, its the browser itself and it's only happened recently. i have yet to uninstall the browser and re-install, but i think if i use the Mozilla backup program to save my bookmarks, it will save whatever setting is causing the problem as well and re-installing will get me nowhere. anyone have any clue? i'm sure it's something simple but i cant figure it out

Hello, Firefox randomly downloaded a file, with seemingly randomly name, that is 0 bytes and in download manager the source is moz-safe-about. It happened when I was accessing a popular wiki site. I opened the file in notepad, it was empty. I put it on virus total and came back negative, as it is an empty file. I've curbed through the support tickets here, using the keyphrase 'moz-safe-about'. I understand this was/is quite a common problem, but it still makes me quite worried and left a sour taste in my mouth, as I haven't understood any of the explanations. I have enabled firefox to ask me whenever it wants to save something (I have no idea why this isnt the default state). Happened on a somewhat fresh, updated win 11 installation. I'm also attaching more information here with a picture. Long story short: should I be worried? Am I overreacting and this is just some sort of a bug that occurred while getting a sites data? Thank you for your time.

I just updated to Firefox 120, and tried the new GPC setting (Tell websites not to sell or share my data). I ran into a problem when I went to the Xfinity community forums (https://forums.xfinity.com/) . It causes a banner on top showing they recognize the setting. There is an "X" in the corner, and some text that says "Hide this banner", but they are not active. Plus, I cannot make a new post or do a general reply (that weird forum software has both local replies to a particular post and general replies to the general thread.)
Is this a bug in Firefox, or a bug in their forum software? I attached a picture of the message it gives.

I am trying to download a large file. Am on a course, and the main tutor has given the group a file to download. Have tried downloading this 5 times, but get little luck. The file that I would want to download is 8.5GB, and the furthest I get is about 4GB.
I have 2 questions about this.
1) I seem to have a very 'in and out internet connection. It seems to go down at times for no reason, cutting off the download. Is there anything I could do about this? How could I troubleshoot this, please? 2) Does anybody know of any special tools that I can use to download in a more efficient manner, please? With increasing frequency, when I open Yahoo in Firefox, there are no photos on the site and I can't access my email. In order to fix this, I have to shut off my computer and do a clean reboot. Then it works for a while, but then, all of a sudden I have the problem again. When I use a different browser (Chrome, Edge), I never have this problem. I thought it was Ghostery that was interfering, because Ghostery does screen out a lot of stuff, so I turned Ghostery off. It made no difference. What solution do you have to offer for this problem? I really don't want to switch to Chrome or Edge, because Firefox's general user interface is so far superior, but the issue I have described is a serious one. (There are two or three other websites that also don't work with Firefox when it comes to user doing data input on the site, but I'll be sending a separate inquiry on that).

I can log into preply.com with Chrome and Edge, but always have problems with Firefox. I was able to log in once, but after that, I can't log back in.
Recently I had to reinstall Windows, and saw the opportunity to try getting this to work. Installed Firefox, but *before* I logged into Mozilla Sync (so I'm working with a 100% fresh installation with no history of having Firefox installed) I tried to log into preply.com. It worked. Then, I log myself out and try to log in again, and once more, I can't log back in. I'm attaching a screenshot of what I see when I try. Please note -- I have no bookmarks, no extensions, no addons, no browser history. Everything is tabula rasa.

and followed it to the letter, meticulously, to no avail. I still can't log into the site with Firefox. Chrome and Edge, yes. Firefox no. I only have Edge because I can't uninstall it. I only have Chrome for situations like this, where Firefox doesn't work. Firefox is my main browser, and I really, really would like to figure out what's happening. I can't understand how this problem persists when the browser is freshly installed; I haven't imported one bit of data yet from my sync account.
