I have just started to encounter Tab Crash errors in FireFox. FireFox usually loads with no problems and runs OK for several minutes, with several Tabs open; but then will start to reprot Tab Crash errors when trying to open new or already open pages. I have tried following the steps on the online support: using latest versions of Firefox and Windows drivers; checked for spyware and malware; opened Firefox in Troubleshooting mode - the errors still occur, even in Troubleshooting mode.

I have one submitted crash report; ID bp-39f08be2-f4d8-486f-87d5-b69ef0240607

very grateful for any help or advice

I started having new tab crashes a couple of weeks ago on Firefox and Brave browsers. I have looked in the extensions settings and do not have any added extensions so that did not cause the problem. I also run Norton antivirus and Norton Ultimate utilities software and regularly clean out files and scan my computer for malware. Not sure if Ultimate Utilities is the problem since I have had other problems in the past with that program. Also, I wonder if Windows updates caused this problem? This has also caused problems in the past. To get around this problem I have to copy the link then right click on my mouse and open a new window the paste the link. Very annoying and time consuming. How do I fix the continual tabs crashing problem?

For the last month or so I'm constantly having issues with messaging on Facebook and with playback on Youtube.

On Facebook my messages are often not sending (I sometimes get a red "couldn't send message" tag under the message(s) I've tried to send; other times whatever I've tried to send just disappears without trace); also often my chats do not show up properly and they also don't sync properly with messages on my android phone. (Both my Firefox and my Messenger app are up to date.)

On Youtube I get issues with video playback (I have a premium account on Youtube): the videos sometimes randomly stop mid-playback and they either continue after 5-10 seconds or they just never continue at all. If the video quality is set higher than 1080p this happens more often. Other times the image freezes, but the audio keeps going. When I've watched a video and I press replay/play again, the video and the audio are delayed. I have an 11th gen i5 processor with 16 GB RAM and 250/25 Gb/s internet connection. To my knowledge all drivers are up to date. I've been chatting with Youtube support and they were adamant that I need to change to Chrome browser because this is Firefox's fault...

Also, when I use Facebook or Youtube, Firefox consumes a TON of resources (almost all resources) and makes my laptop run hot.

The only thing I can think of that might be an issue from my side is that I have many (and I mean many) tabs open in Firefox. But even after cleaning all history/cache and restarting Firefox and going straight to Facebook/Youtube, without touching any other tabs, I still have the issues with both - the two pages I use most. It's getting very tiring & annoying.

I'm using AdBlock Plus, but for Youtube it is disabled. (Youtube support wanted me to uninstall it... surprise, surprise...)

I hope you can help me find a way to fix this. Thank you

I frequently try to save pages as PDFs. When I print the page directly to a printer, no problem. When I save the PDF, it's usually munged and not a valid PDF file (very small or 0 bytes). Example URL: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/01/science/bacteria-microbes-electricity.html

Makes an empty PDF while when I do Print and then Save as PDF. I'm on Apple OS 10.13, using Firefox 67.0.4. This problem has been with us for a while (> 1 year I believe) and happens on all my machines.

For months, Firefox will not load pages, like for google for instance. I will press Enter to load the page and it just won't do anything. Sometimes quitting and restarting fixes the issue, sometimes it doesn't. It isn't my internet, as I often have to open Safari to load the page instead, which always works.

I just did a refresh of Firefox, but the issue persists. It's getting to the point of potentially switching browsers. It's frustrating to have to switch browsers if I need a page to load.

about:restartrequired Restart to Keep Using Firefox An update to Firefox started in the background. You’ll need to restart to finish the update. Your windows and tabs will be quickly restored, but private ones will not.

Hello, Since a couple of weeks I'm facing a strange issue on my Firefox installed on my desktop (arch linux) where the suggestions window that appears when clicking the URL address bar, is shifted upwards and covers the address bar itself and the majority of the bookmarks. Has anyone experienced a similar issue and is able to point me towards some troubleshooting steps? Thanks!

I'm on Windows 11 Pro 23H2. This is a pristine installation, downloaded from mozilla.org, default settings, no add-ons. - Firefox 126.0.1. - There are no cookies, history or cache to clean, since it's a fresh installation. - Connection settings is set default to "Use system proxy settings", although I've also tried setting it up to "No proxy", then restarting Firefox completely, then trying again with a new domain. No change. - DNS over HTTPS is set default to "Default protection". I've also set it to "Off", then restarting Firefox completely, then trying again with a new domain. No change.

I don't what else to try and I don't know what's wrong with Mozilla Firefox.

Can you help?

On my main Firefox screen, I have a tab to Office 365. When I click on the tab, there is a series of icons on the left side, including Outlook. Until recently, clicking on the Outlook icon would bring up all my Outlook emails with the blue envelope first bobbing up and down with new emails. Now, for no apparent reason, when I click on the Outlook icon, all that happens is that another tab for Outlook shows up near the top of the screen; nothing more. And when I click on the tab, nothing happens. I think somehow some interference is keeping me from seeing my main Outlook screen. What can I do to restore the visibility of my Outlook program?

In Windows 10, Audible throws this error:

An Error Occurred An error occurred during processing. Please close this window and try again.

Other browsers are fine. Other media in Firefox such as BBC Sounds are fine. I cleared the history, then reset Firefox. I thought it might be an issue with the latest Realtek driver, but I could not roll back all Realtek drivers. So I installed an Asus DS Xonar 7.1 PCI soundcard. This shows exactly the same problem.

Thankyou.

Hello,

I am unable to either log in or access accounts on the websites indeed.com, x.com and chatgpt's openai.com

I used different computers (Windows 10 and Windows 11), different networks (Public library and private residence), and different versions of Firefox (125 and 126.0), one browser without any add ons and another with the "uBlock Origin" one, and I kept observing captcha or human authentication related errors.

With x.com, I would pass the human verification challenge (solve 10 puzzles), and then I would get the error "Something went wrong. Due to a technical issue, we couldn't complete this request. Please try again." I recorded my screen, and here you can see the video: https://web.archive.org/web/20240604035149/https://trello.com/1/cards/665e5d995d2e821054d66ac5/attachments/665e638096e76922e1404bd1/download/DISABLEMENT_-_unable_to_log_into_X_despite_passing_10_step_captcha_-_Screen_Recording_-_Made_with_FlexClip_-_20240603T172000PDT_-_shortened.mp4

Could I get some feedback?

Thanx

I have 5 tabs that point to sites that I use for my job. These tabs sometimes disappear after Firefox upgrades, but sometimes they disappear after rebooting my PC or shutting the browser and reopening it.

Please tell me how to keep this from happening or how to best recover my tabs when they disappear.

I have been a Firefox user since the "beginning" and really don't want to switch browsers. Also I contribute to Mozilla every month amounting to about 60 dollars a year, so I am a believer, but losing and having to recreate these tabs is really a hassle and slows my productivity.

Thank you for your help. Jane Pickens Waukegan, Illinois Cell [removed phone# from public support forum]

I have struggled off an on for about a year since getting an M-series Mac with Firefox and memory load. This is an issue that I did not struggle with with the same RAM-Specc'd Intel alternative. I have received multiple out of memory errors the longer Firefox would run. I have done full clean installs of my machine (not restoring anything from backup) and gone so far as to up replacing the machine (though not for this specific issue only) that had double the RAM (32GB vs 16GB). I haven't yet begun to receive out of memory errors on this new machine, but I see the day coming.

I believe this is directly related to the number of tabs open, like they must not go to sleep. My concern is that with firefox running, over time (like a day or two) Firefox ends up consuming a little more than 10GB of RAM (peak observed so far). Quitting and reopening Firefox brings me down to 2.5-3 on the same tab count for a couple days.

My addons are all up to date, and I only have two (Firefox Multi-Account Containers, and NordPass for password management). I've removed Nord for troubleshooting purposes with no effect. I have changed to various versions and variations of firefox (meaning beta versions and the developer variation of the browser).

I have also used another browser entirely (MS Edge) for an extended amount of time with basically the same environment open. For comparison, same tabs, same amount of time open Edge uses 3GB RAM and upon restart jumps to 5GG Ram but settles back down to 3.

I am wanting to stay with Firefox. It's multi-container setup is the best there is (that I know of). I hate the idea of moving to another browser.

TL;DR Issue: High Memory usage on Apple Silicon (Firefox using just over 10GB RAM after a couple days)

steps taken: Computer has been reinstalled multiple times Computer has been replaced (move from 16GB to 36GB) Browser reinstalled with various versions and variations. Add-ons have been updated and also removed.

Reference Intel Macbook with 16GB RAM in my workflow did not have this issue a single time over many years.

Desire Looking to reign in Firefox's memory usage so I don't have to move to another browser (Edge has proven to hold at 3GB under the same workflow).
