Moderators, please read first before closing/removing this topic right away?
To those wanting to react here on this topic: please, also read ;)
Since my original posting https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/997009 was closed because one of the moderators felt it was going off-topic (although it was red a lot and had 131 "have-this-problem" in just a few days), here a kind of re-opening but on-topic.
Why? Because I feel we have the right to express our feelings on this major change. And publicly there is actually only this forum where that can be done on the Mozilla.org domain.
Sure, the change is there and we have to live with it (if we choose to). But that doesn't mean we can not have our voice here because after many, many years of supporting FF with our use, we suddenly are facing a layout we were always running away from.
So yes, that can cause ranting and so on (within the forum rules of course) because people feel strongly about there beloved browser.
(edit rules link note the whole topic is ordinarily outside the scope of the forum ... Posts in the Mozilla support forum must be either questions about the use of Firefox, ... Users who post about things other than Mozilla support will be directed to an alternative discussion place .... . ~J99)
Plus this way you can centralize all the negatives here instead of a lot of separate postings about the same subject ;)
To the people reacting here in this topic: there is only 1 real way to let Mozilla itself know how you feel on the new lay out and that is not through this forum. The way is to go to https://input.mozilla.org/feedback/ and let it know there.
edit You need to use a supported Firefox to post Feedback so that will soon not be possible from Fx28 2nd edit. I was wrong feedback works with any version of Fiefpx now~J99
And I think when that is done in normal words (so no f*ck you rants and so on) and suggestions, then maybe, just maybe, it has some effect.
Also, there is an Mozilla support page with info on how to get the "old look" back, see How to make the new Firefox look like the old FirefoxBut it will only partly restore the old look, certain FF29 things can not be changed.
And yes, I myself am back to Firefox 28 which is not supported or suggested by Mozilla because it has things (bugs and security) that are not fixed in it. (Edit Please use Official downloads if you must downgrade links in Install an older version of Firefox and the growing list of exploits you will open yourself up to is listed here: https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox.html ~J99)
I am not suggesting or advertising to others to do the same. It is a risk I am willing to take and only say it is an option.
edit My reason to go back to FF 28 is because that version still has the intuitive feel and look Firefox one was praised for. With a logical lay out and a good way to simply customize it (also in about:config).
For those who say/think "Come one man, stop whining! Grow up and just accept that Firefox has to go with its time!", to them I say: nope ;)

I have an HP Pavillon, Juno email and Firefox is my default browser, At some point while accessing my email I will get the "unresponsive script" error and although it gives my options to continue, debug or close, none of it works and computer freezes. So I have to go to Task Manager and close everything down and start over. Very frustrating. It has also happened when I have been on other websites or with Internet Explorer. HP has tried fixing it, Juno has tried ....all to no avail. I've tried refresh, done many virus/malware scans, etc. It seems to me there is a plug-in or an add-in or some box somewhere not checked. Any ideas?

"Save Link as" isn't working at all. When I try it, either nothing happens at all, or when something does happen, I can't save a file. When something does happen and the folder location where I'm trying to save it opens, it just says "dwn" in the filename box. And I can't save anything I try to save.
And when I "left click" when trying to save something, it just says "connecting..." and after a couple minutes, it will let me save the file I'm attempting to save. But if what I'm trying to save a file and the link has a limit, it always expires before I get to save it.
I've tried Safe Mode, restarting Firefox to factory state, I've uninstalled it completely and reinstalled it, cleared history, cache, and cookies, but nothing has worked.
And also when I cleared the history, my address bar wasn't cleared at all.
Please help me with this, it's getting really frustrating.

Starting yesterday, when images would load on websites, some of them would either be completely black, or mostly black, with only a piece of the images loaded, only to fully load several minutes later.
Turning off hardware acceleration resolved this issue, but reduced the overall performance of firefox. Is there any other way to work around this issue, besides turning off hardware acceleration?
Note: The only 2 things I didn't try were resetting firefox, and a fresh install of firefox. I don't want to lose my addon data, and custom firefox settings, because it takes too long for me to put them back where they are now.
I'm also fairly computer savvy, so you can get pretty technical with me. If I don't understand something, I will ask.

When ever i watch videos i get memory leak, if that's the right word to call it, to avoid video lags i new use only 1 video Tab & not 2 like in the past, its just some sources are slow with loading, that why i use to use 2, awry time i click on next EP memory usage grows & awry time i click on full-screen it grows even more & larger number, depending source, some sources use RAM & some committed memory (but with both memory usage grows with each video), so far anime sources use committed & TV series sources ram, also there was talk that Firefox 36 will be free of Flash, that it goes over to HTML5, but i still see flash in my plugins & also all videos still use flash, with anime ram usage increases to a bit, but not as much as with TV series sources, when will the memory leak be fixed?
EDIT:
lets just say it leaks memory when watching videos, its just worse in full screen, with TV series it doesn't matter full screen or not, still takes a lot of ram, well in the end of the day its a lot, starts from over 300MB & grows, some sources leak ram & some committed

After the most recent Firefox updates, I wasn't able to load Facebook anymore, so I looked up whether I could reinstall Firefox without losing all my bookmarks and settings. I followed the advice given on this support page by renaming the folder "OldFirefox" and then reinstalling Firefox, but everything has been lost (or at least seems to be). What I don't understand is when I right click over the new Firefox icon (after the reinstall) and look at the properties, instead of pointing to the folder ...Mozilla/Firefox.exe, it's pointing to ....OldFirefox/Firefox.exe. It's as if the install didn't create a new Mozilla folder in the directory, even though it was supposed to during the install. Is there a way to get back what I lost? I feel like I'm going to throw up right now. I had an enormous amount of things bookmarked and saved. Thanks for any help.

Hi,
Each time I start Firefox I get a warning pop-up from malwarebytes advising me of an outbound request from Firefox to a malicious site "bestwaytosearch.com". I have checked the home page settings and reset it, checked the search engines along with add-in and extensions. I have also cleared the history and browsing cache but just can not get rid of it.
Yes I can exclude it but that would only mask the problem.

On the morning of October 1st, 2016 I was trying to move April's webhistory into September's Webhistory by tricking my computer into thinking it was still September 30th, so that I wouldn't have to randomly search through the massive category of "older than 6 months" eventually Firefox refused to continue loading pages or even access older pages on my tabhistory. I restarted my computer & allowed an update to Firefox to activate, however when I reactivated Firefox it took a lot longer to load than normal, only for it to show a crash message after about 1 minute each time I tried to start it, safe mode & restarting my PC made no difference.
Eventually I had the insane idea to copy all of my firefox information onto a flashdrive then completely refresh it on my main computer, however even then there was no difference. In frustration I decided to start using the vastly inferior browser known as internet explorer, I looked into Mozilla support using it. I got this computer in late July 2013, & was extremely careful with it, there were no virus threats or anything on this computer & I'm still using Windows 8. This is my most recent crash Crash ID: bp-c995142e-114e-4ae4-a013-4dd1a2161003 This is probably the oldest Firefox restart crash in the chain Crash ID: bp-f9bd6bcf-f99b-4276-9ac3-e790f2161001
Hopefully this information helps some.

Vevo or any other official music videos are not playing in Firefox. After loading for 10 seconds, I am getting "An Error occurred" error. I don't have this problem with other videos. This problem occurred yesterday, although I didn't do any system changes or software updates during the day. In Internet Explorer 11 which using HTML5 Player by default, those videos are starting to play but only after 10 seconds load and not immediately like other videos. When forcing HTML5 Player in Firefox those videos are starting to play after 10 seconds load like in IE but HTML5 Player is very instable in Firefox. Software wise everything is up to date and I already reinstalled both Firefox and IE but the problem is still there. Even System Restore didn't help. Net research also didn't bring any solutions.

I've downloaded Lightbeam because I'm paranoid about viruses and malware but it never does anything. (I have actually just downloaded it for a second time in case I hadn't done it properly but have same problem). After I've been on the net the screen remains blank and none of the links/buttons seem to work. I have searched for it in the Programmes and Features section of my control panel but can't find it there to take it off either. I am not very computer literate so please explain in simple language. I have Firefox 4.0and Windows 8.1 but might upgrade to 10. I don't know what extensions are but I do have Google and the standard things that come with an Asus laptop with Windows 8.1 (but I don't really use much except weather and Outlook). Thank you for your help. P.s. does Firefox have any programme like photoshop?

Hello, I am new here. I have been using Firefox on my Windows laptop for a while now, but now, I have an adware tab that keeps popping up randomly! This is the tab that keeps popping up: cl.1ck.me/dl/shuffle.php I've tried everything, from refreshing Firefox, installing add-ons to block pop-ups, blocking the site with BlockSite (add-on to block websites), and still it is popping up! By default, whenever the rather assertive tab opens itself, I get a message saying that Firefox prevented the page from redirecting. When I allowed it to show, it would show me some obviously malicious ad, saying something like "Windows Media Player is out of date! Click to update now!" (it was different ads each time, but all of them wanted me to download a program). Now whenever I allow it to show, I get redirected to http://www.adtrackone.eu/go.php?a_aid=55415c29d7266 and Firefox gives me a message that says that the website is a reported attack site, and advises me not to continue. When I do proceed to the site, I don't even get an advertisement anymore; a pop-up from Firefox appears, asking if I'd like to save "Setup__11652_il641438.exe" Of course, I have not saved the executable, as it is obviously malware, and I've gotten some pretty bad viruses on my laptop before (Security.Hijack was one of them. What a nasty thing that was! There was also Storm Watch, Desktop Temperature Monitor, et cetera, I'm getting off topic.) And even when my computer is off, this bugger still finds a way to open itself! I usually find about 5 or 6 of these tabs open every morning, each one with the message "Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page." It used to just keep opening itself one at a time, but now it's opening itself in pairs. For example, it's already happened three times while I've been typing this; I'll be typing, then the tab will pop up twice in a row! I'm sorry that this message is so long, but I really need help! This is actually the first time I've made a forum post for help...I searched for cl.1ck.me/dl/shuffle.php online, and the only result I could find was a page in Polish where someone had it set as their home page and couldn't get rid of it. Unfortunately, there were no solutions to that problem. Again, I'm sorry for the dreadfully long message but I REALLY need help! Refreshing Firefox, uninstalling my add-ons and themes, deleting suspicious-looking files in my Firefox data folder, scanning my computer for viruses with MalwareBytes - all of these have done NOTHING to help the issue! Here are some screenshots, if they'll help. Please, ANY help at all will be appreciated! If you need any more information, ask! I click yes but each time I go back it is still the same old password that is stored. This happens on many sites, not just Amazon.

Hello,
I am having some issues using any google related websites. Sometimes when I try to perform a search on google, or load a video on youtube, it simply wont load anything. At first I tought I had internet issues, but I dont not. As soon as Firefox wont load Youtube or perform a search on google, if I try this at Chrome I can do it with no problems. So the problem is in Firefox, since at Chrome and IE there are no issues at all.
I have all my plugins updated on Firefox. Anyone could help me regarding this issue?
