Ok, I've resolved this in the past, several version of Firefox ago, under windows. Firefox crashes silently, open it again and no tabs are restored. Open firefox again and look in recently closed windows and the one with my tabs is not there, only little utility windows that are popped up when I log in at the coffee shop, so my recently closed windows are overwritten with windows with no tabs.

So I go to my profile sessionstore-backups folder and copy it to the desktop. I have 6 files, previous.jsonlz4, recovery.baklz4, and recovery.jsonlz4 at around 8 megs in size. I copied each to the folder one level up and renamed them sessionstore.jsonlz4, and each time restarted firefox. All that opens is a blank tabbed firefox window.

There was never an existing sessionstore.jsonlz4 file anywhere I could find, even with firefox closed, this file never appears anywhere I could find it. Searching files with Windows was also unsuccessful.

I feel like I have captured the files with my tabs, based on the date modified, several were from before the crash. Why can't I find a working tutorial on how to restore my tabs? Nothing I've found on the support site works though I follow the directions exactly.

Windows 11 keeps trying to change my browser from FF to their Edge spyware/virus (it asks EVERY time I start FF). I managed to get it stopped once - difficult and time-consuming, but the next Windows update re-installed it. I have used FF for 15 - 20 years and it works superbly for my needs and nothing from MS ever seems to work.

How can I stop this?

how can i change text color for downloaded themes  ? as the photo this recommended theme wold be better if i can change colors of the text on tabs.. couldn't find a recommended extensions to do this job

This problem just started today. I am very angry. what is going on with Firefox? Websites are filled to the brim with annoying ad's. and you tube videos are constantly interrupted with ad's!!!!! What is with all the ad's? This problem has not existed until today. Please STOP this! And, No, I can not just wait a few seconds then click on "skip ads" because I am looking at videos on a computer screen while sitting away from the computer in a chair so constantly having to get up, walk to the computer, click on "skip ads", walk back to my chair is an annoyance! Just stop with all the ads!

why can't "enchanted tracking protection" be disable in about:config. I changed it to FALSE DOES NOT WORK??? I'm 68, I can't keep turning it off to type in passwords. I pay my bills online. I have pay Malwarebytes for protection. It should be optional, not shoved on us. Jazz

I have an older version of FF (V. 55) and am trying to find a way to transfer all my windows/tabs that I accumulated using the old "Tab Groups". Any help on this one also greatly appreciated.

None of the screens that I see re. "Strict Tracking"in the support pages work when I try them on my version. I want to change my tracking to "strict", but cannot find out how. Also, I see hundreds of trackers esp. every time when I have to use Google since that is the only one w/ which a few sites can deal. I am attaching a screenshot of the daily Adaware tracking cookie search that I schedule. If I had gone to Google, the difference would be that there would be hundreds, even from a short single visit w/ Google in the file name.

Firefox fully updated for fully updated Windows 10 21H2 on HP Envy, 16 GB ram, Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.40 GHz. Only trouble known is that suddenly FF would not operate the Ancestry.com properly after years of everything operating just fine there. Finally swapped browsers to Chrome. That works 100% ok. My problem is that I want to use Firefox not Chrome.

I don't think HTTP protection is breaking the internet for me but it's just not letting me access my bookmarks! Either fix the problem for me or give me a link to go to! Thank you! I click on a bookmark then blocks my access.

The tabs on Firefox seem to be smaller than they were a few days ago, and I can't find where to enlarge them. It would help if right-clicking the Tab Bar brought up a "view" option.

in the autoplay box in settings my allow camera and microphone is showing but there is nothing typed in the box e.g. facebook. how do i get facebook typed in there because when i use facetime on facebook, i cannot hear or see anyone even though both my camera and microphone are on

Not exactly sure why but the browser is no longer working for my banking. I first noticed it a week ago when I tried to log in and then ended up calling the bank tech support. They told me to use google chrome instead. I have been using Firefox for years and never had a problem. After researching for latest update changes, I tried changing the settings to allow cookies for the session for the bank but this did not work either. Any idea why this is happening? Thank you. I will open a few tabs, then close some then open more , then everything slows down, I go to task manager and see that many tasks are still open under Firefox

I want tabs to close ( end process) when I close them

So now I manually 'end process' and the machine resumes speed

How do I get firefox to End Process when tabs are closed

this is w 8.1, don't know what version of firefox, pretty recent

this is firefox mozilla, as best I understand, not that I know why these two are always paired
