Hello, Firefox randomly downloaded a file, with seemingly randomly name, that is 0 bytes and in download manager the source is moz-safe-about. It happened when I was accessing a popular wiki site. I opened the file in notepad, it was empty. I put it on virus total and came back negative, as it is an empty file. I've curbed through the support tickets here, using the keyphrase 'moz-safe-about'. I understand this was/is quite a common problem, but it still makes me quite worried and left a sour taste in my mouth, as I haven't understood any of the explanations. I have enabled firefox to ask me whenever it wants to save something (I have no idea why this isnt the default state). Happened on a somewhat fresh, updated win 11 installation. I'm also attaching more information here with a picture. Long story short: should I be worried? Am I overreacting and this is just some sort of a bug that occurred while getting a sites data? I recently started using Firefox as my main browser after using Chrome for awhile, and I'm now running into trouble playing music on Spotify.

Every time I try to play a song on the browser version of Spotify, it cycles through several quickly without playing anything and eventually displays an error message that says: "Spotify can't play this right now. If you have the file on your computer you can import it."

I've seen others with similar issues (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1431659) but the suggested fixes aren't working for me. My Firefox is up-to-date, I have DRM controlled content enabled, as well as the Widevine Content Decryption Module.

Every time FF does an update it deletes my saved sites on the FF home page. When I try and put them back in the blank spaces it will not let me. I have tried reinstalling FF and it does not help at all. I try in safe mode and it does not work either.

When FF loaded for first time after update had message about being able to fill in PDF documents. Even said give it a try on a option block. Then it displayed a form with blanks to enter name etc. However I wasn't able to enter name or data in the fields they sent me for trying it out. I could do other things with PDF FF displayed, draw, add text box, but not enter data on the form they sent to try it out. Wish I had saved the PDF they sent to show the new feature.

I have the latest version of Firefox (124.0.1) that I'm using on macOS (14.4). The problem is that the whole top section of the browser (tab bar, location bar, and bookmarks bar) is dimmed out a lot of the time. Including when the browser has desktop focus. This, as you might imagine, is very annoying.

Don't know what's changed, I haven't done anything to Firefox that would make this happen. Wondering if this is a bug in the latest version that will be fixed, or if I need to pursue this. My plan would be to log out of my Mozilla account on the browser, reset all the settings, then log back into my Mozilla account in the hopes that this is something that won't survive that process; i.e. not saved in my saved settings.

I'm about at the point of stopping use of Firefox, which I really don't want to do, if I can't fix this due to eyestrain from squinting at dimmed tabs, etc. If this is a release-related problem, I can put up with it until it's fixed.

Attempting to disable FF Password manager completely for my org via a plist.

Currently have the password manager itself disabled but can't figure out how to disable the Auto-fill settings with previously saved passwords prior to the password manager being disabled?

Is this possible? Or is this disabled already when the password manager itself is disabled?

Previously I've been able to select search suggestions using the keyboard when typing into a search bar. As of a few days ago this no longer works on some sites like YouTube, but does work on others like Google. The issue is not to do with num lock or scroll lock, and my browser is up to date (124.0.1 Ubuntu Snap version).

Since I upgraded from Kaspersky Internet Security to Kaspersky Plus, my Protected Browser version of Firefox has lost track of my current Protected bookmarks and stored passwords - but the bookmarks and passwords in the standard (i.e. not Protected Browser) Firefox remain the current set. Unfortunately this is a different set, so I no longer have access to the Protected passwords etc. Although Firefox has just updated to 124.0.1 the About display in Protected Browser insists "Firefox is being updated by another instance". Kaspersky have studied the GetSystemInfo report and cannot find anything amiss, so is Firefox causing the problem? e.g. where in Firefox did Kaspersky manage to find a three-years-out-of-date set of bookmarks and passwords?

The Grey Text Fetish throughout The Web is ruining what little Senior Eyesite I have left. I don't want to switch browsers, but I'm not finding any way to darken text in Firefox. Help!

When I try to detach a tab, so that it's a new window, by dragging the tab downward so it isn't on the tab bar. After I let go a new window is created for that tab that I dragged, however it also maximizes the window, which disorients my work flow. Is there any way I can detach a tab into a new window and not have it maximized automatically?

My account is locked out and can only receive verification code on [edited]. You are asking for additional verification code by email but cannot receive it. Only my mobile is working.

Just tried to log into DISH Anywhere and received the following error message: "Your browser is not currently supported for streaming Live TV and DVR content with DISH Anywhere. Please use a Chrome or Safari browser to access this content." Is this something that will be fixed? Pushing me towards Chrome . . .

When I scroll text for some reason, Firefox stopping scrolling very slow. It's almost take up to 2 seconds. Very annoying smoothest. I have stopped scrolling already but Firefox still scrolling and finally very slow stop it. I can't focus on the text because it's still slows down the scrolling.

How to fix that!?

I updated FF per regular basis. Now I can't log into Google because my phone is no longer an option. A tablet is an option but it's physically inaccessible. All I did was click update and restart. Nothing unusual about that. My phone can't access Google accounts either. I'm not the most tech savvy and so I have no clues how to remedy this situation.

Hi,

I noticed that the shortlinks/websites on my startpage (the House icon) are placing cookies as soon as I start Firefox. Not all of them and also in a random manor. This does not happen in Private Navigation, which i almost never use.

For me this is rather strange, I do not visit these shortlinks and already being tracked by those cookies. How can this be changed?

My settings are to clear all cookies and history at closure. Subquestion: Do I need to choose Options/Close or does this also work by clicking the X in the right upperhand corner to close Firefox.
