I can't find out how to set the default pdf reader in Thunderbird. The instructions say to look under "preferences", but I can't find that item on any of the menus. I am running version 102.3.2. I suspec that the advice i found referred to older versions.

TB automatically upgraded from v. 91.x to v. 102.3.2 today and I was able to sync my Google Contacts to the Address book. This actually involved creating a new CardDAV address book in TB. I am happy with the sync process in general but I have two questions: 1. Is there a plan to make "lists" in the TB address book syncable with Google contacts "labels"? Currently it is not possible to add a "list" to the new book I created in TB. Existing Google contact "labels" to do show up at all when I sync to TB. 2. If the above request is granted, will it be possible to merge and existing address book in TB (with lists) with the new Google CardDAV address book (newly created in TB)? Thunderbird deleted emails not moved to Trash

I've used Thunderbird for years but I've noticed for a little while now that when I delete emails from my business email IMAP accounts (both with the same email provider) the deleted emails disappear instead of being moved to the Trash folder. I have a third account that's with gmail, which is set to remove deleted emails immediately. It seems to be what the other IMAP accounts are doing instead of moving to trash like they're supposed to.

When I access these IMAP accounts using webmail I can delete messages and they are moved to the Trash folder. These deleted messages can then be seen in the Deleted folder in Thunderbird, so it would seem that the subscription settings are working correctly. It's like Thunderbird is just ignoring the delete behaviour setting in Server Settings.

I've attached screenshots of my settings and subscriptions - obviously I have confirmed that the "when I delete a message" option is correct. It has occurred to me that since the issue is with two accounts both with the same provider it could be an issue on their end, but I need some more information before I can consult their technical support (they don't officially support Thunderbird).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The new address book format is great if you are running Thunderbird from a phone, but I always and only use Thunderbird from a PC - for which the new format is obnoxious. There needs to be a method of telling Thunderbird which address book format it should use. Actually, if Thunderbird can figure out on what sort of machine it is running, it could make the choice automatically.

Looks like there is a bug in Thunderbird. On my laptop I did deactivate message grouping once and it works fine. On my desktop computer I have to deactivate this annoying ugly "feature" every time I start thunderbird.

How can I deactivate message grouping permanently? Can't imagine anybody uses this thing... it's the most annoying 'feature' I've seen since I've been using thunderbird - and that's maaaaany, many years!

Please stop this. It's really annoying. I can't believe it passed the quality check :(

Previously with chrome I had 5 links pinned to the homepage, and that was all that was there. With Firefox, I can't figure out how to disable the history mixed in with the pinned links, or change the number of links displayed. All I can find is changing the number of rows, not columns per row which would at least be good, because I could just set the grid to fill to 1x5, instead of having the current minimum count of 1x8 links.

When I open Reddit in regular browsing mode the page loads but I cannot interact with anything at all. I cannot scroll, click buttons, or even go to other tabs or close the tab. Firefox (from what I can tell) freezes completely, the buttons to close the window and minimize it do not work either and I can only close it with task manager. I went into troubleshooting mode to try and fix it myself and it works perfectly there. I went back into regular browsing mode and disabled all my addons, but the problem happened again. After this I tried clearing my startup cache and the browser still froze. Other websites like Youtube and Twitter function normally.

For the last few weeks I keep getting this error message: An error occurred during a connection to ....... You are attempting to import a cert with the same issuer/serial as an existing cert, but that is not the same cert.

Error code: SEC_ERROR_REUSED_ISSUER_AND_SERIAL

It will suddenly happen for multiple sites that I have been connected to in the past, or new sites I try to open including support.mozilla.org. A solution is to clear my history and restart the browser. It only happens on my windows 10 laptop. I think happens when I have logged off or the device has slept and then firefox has restarted and opened previously open tabs. Other devices on the same network don't get effected.

After I open Thunderbird, I eventually get a nag screen saying: "Thunderbird can't update to the latest version. Download a fresh copy of Thunderbird and we'll help you to install it"

I'm already on the latest version of Thunderbird! Version 102.2.1 . This question has been asked before but all those replies dealt with adding an exception to Avast. I do not use Avast. I use AVG Free and Zone Alarm Pro. I do not use any programs that check to see if a program needs to be updated.

The nag screen started about a week ago. That was right after I updated to Version 102.2.1 . AVG Free and Zone Alarm Pro have NOT been updated. Was something new added to Thunderbird that requires I add an exception to AVG Free or Zone Alarm Pro? Or is there a bug in Thunderbird's V102.2.1?

Recently updated to version 105.0.1 and I've started to have problems with Twitch. I'm unable to login and keep getting the message: "Something went wrong. Please try again." so I cleared the cookies/site data. Still unable to login. I know this isn't an error with my account as I can login via Chrome with no issues. Then I tried downgrading to the previous version 104.0.2 and had no issues with Twitch. Most likely, this new version is creating an error with the Twitch site. Hopefully new updates will address this issue - in the meantime, hoping someone has a solution.

After 10-20 downloads are performed the drop down no longer shows my recent files until I restart firefox. I think the issue is once you hit a certain amount of downloads the preview drop down no longer works. Is this a know bug? Its happening on any pc, im on version 104.0.2 (64-bit)

Has anyone seen this error when sending an email? We have several email accounts on a computer using thunderbird. Recently, we received this message on a ....bellsouth.net account. (now migrated to ATT) So I decided to delete the email account and start over. Now I cannot get Thunderbird to recognize this email and cannot build the new account. We have it on 6 other computers with no issue. Any advice?
