Hello, so I have been putting my custom links onto the 'top sites' start page in Firefox, by editing the icons and putting the URL, etc. It is a great 'speed dial' type feature I love. One thing has me tearing my hair out after trying all ways to try and fix this to appear to my liking, is the 'custom icon' from the website not showing in the sites I want to 'speed dial' Facebook and YT show up fine, but random sites I want on the page don't do this. I don't care why this is anymore, please don't give lengthily fixes. It's just silly you need a working URL with an icon at the end of it to display this properly. It did make me very mad, can you tell, even madder when I saw it done as it should be in OPERA browser, on their 'top sites', or 'speed dial' customizable home page they have the sensible option there to pick your own icon, you can put in a folder on your desktop if you like, no working URL needed! start a collection of what icons you want to see on your own start page. Can you please implement this 'common sense' modification as soon as possible, it will take only minutes of code writing i'm sure. I do not want to, but I will go to Opera as my main browser for this common sense functionality, good luck and thank you.

Is there a way to rename things in the Passwords list? I'm not concerned about MY password or sign-in, but what appears in the list. A name such as "login.live.com" tells me nothing about what site that sign-in will take me to. I'd like to be able to rename it with something that gives me a hint.

I have a fairly long list of saved logins, and visually scan the list at times to get to a supplier or service I need.

I'm using a desktop, Windows 10.

Hi jscher2000, I want to thank you for your advice concerning a problem I had downloading Firefox to my Windows 10 laptop. I tried to follow your advice but was not successful. In the end, I googled "what if Firefox doesn't install". It took me to a website, https://www.makeuseof.com/fix-firefox-not-installing-windows , which took me to an article entitled "8 Fixes to Try if Firefox Won't Install on Windows". I tried #1 and #2 without success. #3, Temporarily Disable Your Antivirus Software, worked. Firefox is up and running. Feel free to share this with anyone who has a similar problem. Hi, PLEASE ASSIST I have a Desktop Computer & also a Laptop Computer(both using Windows 10) I used Firefox Syn to have both Comuters the same BUT BUT,Nothing but Problems On the Desktop Computer,regardless if I open Firefox,both Bookmark Menu & toolbar Menu are the same After (on firefox using Eset Banking) the Toolbar was great,but now,when I open it,it is the same as the normal Bookmark Menu) & if I open Firefox normally,the Menus are the same On Firefox using ESET Banking,I deleted all the menu on the toolbar & Put in the sites I had before all of the SYN But After I had it back to where I need it,GREAT & Shut it down,After 15 minutes I reopened it again & MUCH TO MY DISCUSS.the Toolbar Menu I just had put back is gone & the normal bookmark menu is Back HOW CAN I STOP THIS Through Firefox ESET Banking Tooplbar menu,is a safe way of logging into sites to make payments It is EXTREMELY FRUSTATING Please Help Thank you Darryl.Smith

We see that Firefox often takes the fallback Proxy. The connection via the Fallback proxy is much slower than the connection via the original proxy. 

My Questions: How does Firefox recognize which Proxy is now active? Is there away to debug the Proxy Selection? Can I give a priority to a Proxy?

I tried enabling localfilelinks in firefox and found this thread https://support.mozilla.org/fr/questions/1264779 which mentions creating a "user.js" file and adding this:

/ Create policy enabling http: or https: pages to link to file: user_pref("capability.policy.policynames", "filelinks"); user_pref("capability.policy.filelinks.checkloaduri.enabled", "allAccess");

// Sites to which the policy applies (protocol://hostname protocol://hostname) user_pref("capability.policy.filelinks.sites", "http://example.com http://intranet");

then reloading firefox.

The fix worked and i was able to use local files in firefox. My Problem now is reverting localfileaccess to default (blocked).

i tried modifying the "user.js", deleting it, deleting and reinstalling firefox, cleaning the firefox install and creating a new profile. when i deleted user.js the enabled options vanished from "prefs.js" but local file access was still enabled. I also tried to edit the generated options in about:config but i cannot get it to revert to localfile access beeing locked and couldn't find any way to fix my problem.

Is there an easy way to relock this?

Find out and correct the problem I typed in the question block : I am no longer able to download my email from the WOWWAY home page since I accepted our latest update. The only way I can get my email now is by using Microsoft Edge as my browser!!!!

A friend opened a gmail account on my fire fox browser and saved her password on the saved folder. I mistakenly log her out this morning and we have been trying to recover her account but couldn't as she can't remember her password again.

We tried to check the saved password for the details but couldn't find the password again. Can you please assist?

When running a remote desktop connection, if the the remote computer has a web player running (YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud, etc.) it will stop playback and audio will stop outputting from the remote computer.

However, you can hit play again on the web player and it will resume playing. But once you end your remote desktop connection the player will stop again and all audio or video output

There is a post here (https://mzl.la/3Pg6xU3) that stated you can change "security.sandbox.content.level" value to "2" but this did not work.

Any ideas?

I don't know how you can help. I really really really hate hunting for things that were there in previous years. I do not like full screen lay over that mozilla has taken to doing, if it doesn't stop i will have to remove it. I want to see my tabs, I want mozilla to stop playing with my settings and logging me out when I am idle or on my phone. There are people with the same problem but its all techy talk and i don't understand and its playing with my time to constantly search or resign in. I don't need microsoft anything, hate it, don't use cloud, don't use chrome... so do we have an issue? one more thing... I absolutely hate with a passion of terminator any fucking ai garbage and bots. would sooner smash devices and take out a fire arm to shoot any robots. Hope that makes it clear. I have anxiety issues, so swearing is an issue, get used to it especially if artifical nonsence is involved. I try very hard not to swear at people. Ai is a different matter. I have norton antivirus.

i keep installing over and over again and launching at the same time and for some reason the error keeps popping up. i was able to launch and play a Roblox games for a few times via browser so its safe to say that u can indeed play on the website its just that the error that it keeps popping out and not launching the game once in a while
