Hi. This release is buggy and the new UI is very small (and if you enlarge it the entire layout is affected).

By 'buggy' I mean there is a lag when I delete a message from the inbox, and instead of the other messages moving up to replace the deleted one, the deleted email appears twice. And when I delete multiple messages in succession, the lag causes other messages to be deleted unintentionally.

How to revert to the previous version?

Thanks!

Folks,

In the older versions of TB 102 and earlier, MOVING a bunch of email to a folder was much easier. Move To folder pop-up allows the name of the folder to be moved to by typing in the search box.

This supernova version made is so inconvenient to move email, as now one cannot type the email folder to move to, itstead one must use a LONG-Winded method to move email by only selecting the folder in the pop-up.

Please BRING that option of typing the name of the folder for the email to be moved to. It is so much more convenient. Otherwise what is the point of reducing the value of such features?

Even the file menu is placed in the wrong position, it SHOULD be at the top and then underneath the File menu, you can have the mail space toolbar.

Can you consider these two things urgently? Thanks.

Whenever I open Thunderbird, I receive an error message for each of my 17 email addresses. I do get access to all of them, but the error messages are extremely annoying. The trouble is the text of the messages is off-screen. Even when I use "ctrl + -" to reduce the images so they are not off-screen and readable, they are still off-screen. I do not know what they say. There is also an email request to connect Thunderbird to Office 360... WHICH I DO NOT WANT. I hate MS. Is this connection to MS necessary? I really want to go back to the previous version of Thunderbird. How do I do that?

The update to Thunderbird 115.0.1 broke the "Unified folders".

I have two eMail accounts: - the first on a custom server, I do not know its characteristics - the second is an Office365 institutional account

Only the account on the on the custom server is shown in the Unified Folders.

The second account is shown as a folder in the Unified Folders pane, at the same level as "Archives", "Junk" and "Deleted".

I have tested one solution reported to be working: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1003446

It does not work in my case.

Any help?

Can I get back to the main layout as it was prior to the Supernova update?

I LIKE the list of correspondents and being able to simply click the dot to mark something as unread etc. etc. etc. Things like this allow me to group and highlight things I need t address.

Truly - the layout in Supernova is terrible and, h0nesty, after many many years as a loooong tie TBird user (like since early-mid 90's) I'm probably going to look around for something else if I'm stuck with this supernova layout.

thanks

Hi.

I just update from old thunderbird 102.15.0 to newest 115.2.0 and when i open the program always ask me to verify my mails and always ask me the log in details even i choose the first time "i aprove thunderbird use this account".

PLEASE FIX this issue cause it is really annoying everytime i need something must put the log in details again, and again, and again.

Cause this problem make thunderbird useless.

Every year in this season Thunderbird ESR(!!!) switches to a new version. Every year the new version is a lot worse of previous. Every year it introduces a lot of cosmetical changes that tha majority of users haven't requested nor approve. You're incompetent developers. You're ignorant men.

This version has changed a setting: I don't want that Thunderbird update itself automatically but you think that you know what it's better for me! You are morons! Regards

New computer. Windows 10. Fresh install of Thunderbird (v. 115.0 (64-bit). Got my profile migrated over. I've triple-checked the server settings (name, port, security settings, etc. are identical to on my old computer). But when I click "Get Messages," nothing happens. Doesn't prompt for password, doesn't attempt to connect to the server.

I never had any saved passwords in Tbird, so it's not that.

Doesn't appear to be the firewall (Norton 360). I was all over in those settings and even turned it completely off briefly, same result.

I'll keep Googling, but so far, these two issues seem to be the problem, but as far as I can tell, it's not either one. Thoughts?

Thanks much, AJS

Perhaps because the login page is an old type, unlike when logging in to websites and apps with Google, there is no screen asking for parental approval. On the other hand, it was possible to log in even if two-factor authentication was attached to non-managed accounts (parental accounts, etc.). Can't the login page be a new type (current) like Windows Mail?

By the way, I cannot turn off the management setting by Family Link.

Thunderbird version is 115.

What on earth have you done on this 'SuperNova' Update?

The Thread Pane is pointlessly large. I used to adjust this to about three lines of emails - now the minimum setting is about TEN lines. I cannot read my emails! They are left taking up about an inch of the screen!

I tried the vertical layout and while I can read the emails better, a huge chunk of the screen is pointlessly taken up with the list - and it's still far too wide.

I found one ridiculously complex 'workaround' which more of less meant writing code - no thanks!

Please sort this now

I'm running Thunderbird 115.2.3 on Mac OS X Ventura 13.5.2. Since a few days ago, the Thunderbird interface will hang completely a few minutes after it launches. I can usually get in and read an email or two before this happens. No crash dialog appears, and I have to force quit the application.

A few things I've tried, unsuccessfully:

  • Launching in safe mode has the same issue
  • Deleting the global messages DB seems to make this issue go away for a while, but then it comes back again at a certain point (like after a day or so of use)

I was able to save a Mac OS X crash report, which is here https://gist.github.com/timstallmann/1bc7150c43054642e5e936782e247527 in case it provides any insight.

I hope there's a solution to this! I have been a loyal thunderbird user for decades and have never had a problem like this.
