I just reinstalled my operative system, and with that my Firefox settings got reset. I know there is an entry in about:config to prevent ads from opening new tabs and pop ups without authorization, even from legit websites like the login pop-up windows when doing a sign in in Google, in those cases to allow the windows it's needed to click on the lock icon next to the URL bar and allow it from there. The problem is that I don't remember the name of that setting and I have spend an hour looking for it on Google.

Starting about 13:00 Thursday 06/02 multiple (100+) search tabs for items on E-Bay listed 24 hours prior randomly result in an error page with a child with an orange hoodie saying: "We looked everywhere. Looks like this page is missing. If you still need help, visit our help pages."

Entering the error title on a successful title search does result in a successful search the tab for which can then replace the tab which resulted in the error page.

There can be zero results, or many results, I do not see a pattern with this as to if there were results or not.

This would be happening about 5% of the time, however considering how time consuming recreating hundreds of searches would.....

E-Bays says transfer Firefox tabs to Gmail and see if problem persists.

They said no one else has reported this.

Any ideas.

No recent changes to computer, or Firefox. Windows 10.

Sometimes, I'll click a new tab, and "something" happens. It's like it tries to create a new tab, yet it's just a half-formed nothing that you can't interact with. And when this happens, Firefox is destined to eventually crash / become unresponsive. I literally have to reboot to get Firefox working again. I haven't tried logging out. That would probably work, too.

This also happens when moving new tabs, but I've only notice that happen on tabs with Youtube.com open.

I have tried to keen a two year old version of Firefox for Android going but finally had to update. I have always used and supported Firefox since the start but I am now loosing my patience with the new development.

All I want is to open a new tab and it will take me straight to my homepage. Something that used to be a basic feature of using a search engine. Now days I have to tap about three times to select my homepage in Google.

I have seen this question asked before on this and no defined answer. I have tried everything.

Why do I have to have a custom Firefox page in every new tab, I don't care about all the noise from sites, preferences - I don't want to know some morose politicians wears pink frilly nickers every time I open a tab... All I want is to simply, easily start my search on Google again every time I open a new tab.

Not much to ask is it?

P.S Yes I have cleared all preferences on Firefox homepage tab. Set Google as my homepage & not using any customised jump back ins. My opening is also set to homepage- doesn't work

I went to settings and set firefox to open links in a NEW TAB instead of a new window, but it still opens links in a new window. I did a search on google and when I click on the link for the website to see the information it is still opening in a new window. How can I fix this so I don't have a lot of new windows. It's irritating to have to close all those stinking windows just to get back to my original window. I just want the links I click on to open in a new tab.
