Should LastPass still be recommended, or even listed?

Lastpass has had major data breaches in 2011, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, and two in 2022.

Today I got a recommendation to install LastPass. I was a bit surprised. LP (logmein, gotomypc) has a history of databreaches. I found reports in 2011, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2021, and two in 2022.

People without a lock on the door know they have no security. Putting on a lock that is not effective only gives people a false sense of security and may even increase the threat.

I love many of the add-ons. I know I can't rely on anyone to make sure they are all secure, but I hope such well-publicized problems will result in a review.

The billions lost and hundreds of hours spent by people each year with passwords in our fight with hackers is a true drain and a danger. Password programs have been the only way for individuals to survive. Their standards for security must be even higher than others. LastPass has not met the standard for a high level of security...or even a low level.]

LastPass has one reason for existing--keeping our passwords safe and secure. In the light of their failure, it's time to stop recommending them. It undermines the credibility of Mozilla and Firefox.

This is the second time fairly recently after Firefox was closed, and restarted I lost all tabs, perhaps 8! This is even with the Startup option, Open previous windows and tabs selected. I had some important websites on tabs and I lost them and using the history option, I was only to open one website and not the most important.

This is VERY poor operation and enough to cause me to want to migrate to a different browser.

This needs to be fixed without delay.

Hi Firefox-Team,

I am writing a sidescroller game with Visual Studio Code using javascript canvas. The source for the "player" is a .webm video file with transparencies. The video is 13 seconds long, i want the video at the start to play the first 10 seconds and then loop from second 3 to 10 indefinately (until key is presst but this does not matter here) the issue is as follows and it seems to be a Firefox issue:

The Video plays to the 10 seconds and jumps back to second 3 and loops BUT each time the loops starts over there is a flickering / empty frames before the loop starts. This does not happen in edge or chrome.

any suggestions? or research on this topic? any plans on fixing this or can I open a ticket?

I am looking forward to your reply. regards Konrad Mostert

I am experiencing big issues when using Quora on Firefox (note. ONLY with FF, no problems with Safari or Chrome).

1) when I type www.quora.com FF automatically convert it to it.quora.com. Impossible to readdress to international site.

2) It cannot understand I am already a registered user. Below a comparison btwn Safari (left) vs FF (right) login page both setted, for sake of comparison, to it.quora You can easily see two major problems here: the red sentence say it does not recognize me as a registered user; even if I manually enter my pw, the login blue button remains non clickable.

Again this happens only in FF.

I already deactived the antitracking feature on FF.

In the past few months, I've had problems with links that come from emails received on my account. There are a couple of senders who have links to a web page. When I go to that page, they often will have a youtube link, but the link is missing. Further, when working with the sender, they send another email with the web page pasted into it, I still don't see the link. They can see it before they send it.

I'm getting email direct from their website and am not using outlook or another client on my end. I have the same results on every browser I've tried. I'm not using any ad blocker and Firefox and Windows are up to date. I have also tried disabling my firewall. Nothing seems to help so far.

Anyone have an idea of what I might be missing?

Thanks!

I use Firefox for Mac as my default browser and use it to access all sites including GMAIL. This morning and one other time about a week ago, when I start-up the Mac, go to Firefox and open GMAIL, I get a message from Google saying that the browser is not supported and then it loads the outdated HTML version of its gmail. I have restarted my Mac and tried again, and I get the same results. It works normally with Chrome (go figure). Any insights are welcome. Thank you!

I have searched and cannot find an answer. Simple question, how to enlarge font and icons on Firefox 108 toolbar. They are so tiny now that they are very difficult or impossible for some to read. There are pages of questions about this and no real answer. Most of us are not IT specialists and do not feel comfortable making the changes offered to us. One mistake can lead to what this user went through (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1376259). I cannot believe there is not a simple solution for us. I am researching other browsers but fear they are similar. I like Firefox and do not want to switch and may not be able to. Please address this issue. I tried to insert a snip of the toolbar, unfortunately it seems impossible to paste here.

Hi. The other day Firefox was playing up so I refreshed it which sorted it all out. However today I find all my saved passwords have gone. On researching this I see they may be in an old Firefox data on the desktop. Checking this there is a directory there dated 22/12/2022 which is when I did the refresh. Brilliant! But when I go into about:profiles it doesn't give me the option to "launch profile in new browser" which is what I think I need to do. Any help very gratefully received. Thank you. John

Go to https://townhall.com/, click on Login and a screen pops up to enter your credentials. Firefox either doesn't see the screen or doesn't recognize that it needs to offer to save login credentials. There is no error message or other indication of a problem. FF version is 108.0.1 (64-bit), Windows 11 Pro 22H2, build 22621.963, Feature Experience Pack 1000.22638.1000.0.

On other websites Firefox captures and then fills the user id and password fields but not this one. Is this something I am doing/not doing or otherwise fixable?
