Hi. The other day Firefox was playing up so I refreshed it which sorted it all out. However today I find all my saved passwords have gone. On researching this I see they may be in an old Firefox data on the desktop. Checking this there is a directory there dated 22/12/2022 which is when I did the refresh. Brilliant! But when I go into about:profiles it doesn't give me the option to "launch profile in new browser" which is what I think I need to do. Any help very gratefully received. Thank you. John

Hi. Thanks for that. Sadly it did not help. I copied over key.4db and logins.json from the old firefox data on the desktop into the current profile folder but passwords still missing.

Then at this point those are the needed files to restore the login but since those didn't find it then it most likely not much chanced to get them.

Thanks for your help. I used a specialist IT firm I've used before and they fixed it in 10 minutes. I must have been doing something wrong. Anyway all logins and passwords now restored but it has made me wary of doing a refresh ever again.

I never do a refresh unless you backup the bookmark and login then and only then might I chance it. So one should look into doing that as a backup.
