I have 2 windows 10 computers both with Thunderbird. One computer never has trouble with getting emails. The other shows every day "Login to server mail.hoster905.com with username cnc@lcgnm.com failed" I have reset this one password at the server, entered the new password in Thunderbird and can the get mail. That day only. Next day same problem.

Not sure when this happened.

Got 2 email accounts, account X and account Y. All was working fine until today, 6/27/24. Both have different outgoing SMTP servers.

Now I am trying to send, it is asking for passwords, which I have and is 100% correct. In fact, if I put in wrong password it tells me, so I know it is communicating. When I put in the correct password, I get a timeout on BOTH SMTP servers.

I disabled Norton Firewall.

Works fine from another PC app (poppeeper) and from my android (k9 mail). Both accounts are IMAP.

Neither SSL/TLS or STARTTLS makes a difference. Nor did a re-boot.

TB 115.12.2 (64 Bit) on Windows 10

Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) mailroom4.hostrocket.com timed out. Try again.

Description: hostrocket Server Name: mailroom4.hostrocket.com Port: 465 User Name: ernie@e(redacted).com Authentication method: Normal password Connection Security: SSL/TLS

Hi, I'm hoping to find some help to address crashing that has been happening frequently. The most recent crash has a report ID: bp-47617fc8-55f9-4d32-8713-a4ce40240426 and this happened while in 'troubleshoot' mode.

I have been using Thunderbird for years and love the program. I was surprised today when I was writing a long email and the cursor kept ending up in the Subject heading instead of the body of the email. My typing continued in the subject heading. I had to manually move the cursor back to the body of the text. I noticed this happened every time the email was automatically saved. It was very disconcerting to be looking at my keyboard then whenever I looked up, the text kept appearing in the subject heading.

There is obviously a bug in the software and the only answer I can figure out to fix this until it is corrected is to disable the Auto Save function. How do I do this?

I would report this to anyone interested in resolving bugs in Thunderbird, but I could not find who or how to contact the developers.

I set up a new Windows 11 PC (64-bit) about 2 months ago, and installed Thunderbird Supernova. I allowed MTS to choose all the settings and everything was working fine until about 3 weeks ago I am now running version 115.11.1 (64-bit). I noticed that many messages I recieve at scheduled times every day were not appearing in my MTS message list until sevveral hours (a few actually took 3 days) after their normal delivery times. Checking with the senders revealed no change to the time they were sent. Looking at the messages when they appeared showed that they WERE received on time. Logging into the web interfaces for Gmail and Comcast/XFINITY email revealed that the messages were arriving on time. The only logical conclusion is that MTS has a problem in its IMAP protocol implementation that does not recognize new/unread messages as such, and therefore does not retrieve them. I am legally blind, and up to this point, mTS is the only fully accessible, easy-to-keyboard-navigate email program.

Thunderbird has for the past few days begun giving me this error message every time I lick into your program. "Login to server imap.gmail.com with username rg.mccormick43@gmail.com failed". I am also recieving this message for aol.com.

Interestingly, gmail messages continue to come into the program but I cannot send any messages. Unless this is fixed quickly I will drop your program and go back to using google, which I hate, for my email program.

how can i stop thunderbird from interacting with windows defender anti virus scan? when ever i download or delete emails i get a few seconds of "not responding " and the whole computer is non responsive. i used to be able to turn off real time scan in security and it would work for a day and then windows would enable it again. now since the last upgrade windows isnt allowing me that option any more. solutions?

I've used Google Maps 3d on this machine before. I don't use it all the time. Not sure at what point it stopped working, but sometime in the last 3-6 months.

Windows 10 Pro version 22H2 Firefox version 124.0 (64-bit) Hardware Acceleration is turned ON webgl.enable-renderer-query=TRUE webgl.enable-webgl2=TRUE webGL.disable=FALSE WebGL 2 Driver Renderer=Google Inc. (Intel) -- ANGLE (Intel, Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 Direct3D11 vs_5_0 ps_5_0, D3D11-10.18.10.5059)

Google Maps shows the Global View as greyed out so I'm unable to use 3D. Did a test on https://get.webgl.org/. I see the spinning cube.

Any suggestions?

Not having this problem in either Edge or Chrome.

Was working fine for months until today.

I am writing to request assistance with an issue I am encountering on the latest version of the Firefox browser for Android. My goal is to open specified pages in the same tab using Intent from a third-party custom application. However, I have observed that different URLs open in separate tabs, contrary to my expectations.  Current Implementation:  Here is the code snippet I am currently using: java: Intent intent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW); intent.setData(uri); intent.putExtra(Browser.EXTRA_APPLICATION_ID, packageName); startActivity(intent); Expected Behavior:  I expect different URLs to open in the same tab without opening new tabs. This functionality is crucial for my application.  Issue Background:  I have researched similar issues and found that users have had comparable needs using Browser.EXTRA_APPLICATION_ID. Unfortunately, it appears that Firefox has not fully addressed this functionality. The EXTRA_APPLICATION_ID is a feature that modern browsers should ideally support to enhance user experience and maintain continuity within a single tab. Every time i use firefox with even one tab open i end up with extremely high CPU usage-50% or more on average. It causes the exact type of issues that one would expect, and after spending a hours and hours over the last month looking for solutions and implementing anything promising, it hasnt improved. Ive done config edits, countless cache clears, memory snapshots via devtools, and many many other things that have been recommended to me and nothing has helped. running the browser in troubleshoot confirms the problem isnt related to extensions/add-ons or anything like that, because cpu numbers are identical to those seen normally. increasingly i am convinced that this has to be an issue on the mozilla side. reddit confirms i am not alone in struggling with this, not by a long shot.....pls help!

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to add a HTML signature to my emails and added it to the HTML box in account settings. I then go to my emails to check that the signature looks ok, so open an email and and my signature flashes up then disappears. I sent the email just to make sure and there is no signature. Does anyone one have any ideas why this might be happening. It worked fine at the start, but then this keeps happening.

Hi there. Hoping someone can help me resolve this.

My Thunderbird email account is connected to Sage Online (promo products and apparel platform). If I click on an item and choose to share it with a customer, an email will open and will usually include the said link to the item automatically. The email will populate but the link is not generating. I've included a screen shot of the error attached, but I can't open it.

The tech team at Sage has already looked into the matter on their end. They tell me the issue resides in Mozilla/Thunderbird.

Can someone please help me out?

Hi, I started my laptop as normal and opened Thunderbird to check emails which was fine. In the middle of checking emails the laptop just switched off unexpectedly (still don't know why). I restarted the laptop and was prompted to do a disk check which I did then it booted up fine. I started Thunderbird again but it came up as setting up a new account not recognizing my existing profile accounts which are multiple. I've spent hours searching for a solution, which led me to the prefs.js issue. I followed some instructions to rename the prefs-1.js file which I did and it partially worked but not to my original settings and all accounts. I then copied and renamed an older backup version of the prefs.js file which also worked but then included accounts I didn't have anymore. I'm trying to get back my original prefs.js settings but don't know how to or if it's possible at all.
