Hi

Got an earlier version of Thunderbird at home (and sorted fine) but I'm trying to sort the view for folders and sub-folders to be all the same on my work PC i.e Sort By: Date, descending & unthreaded.

Apart from going through every folder/sub-folder, is there a quick way to set this in version 115.10.1 ?

Looked at online help/videos but they refer to older versions.

I am unable to get printing to work correctly using Firefox with Epson POS TM-T20 thermal printers we have a work.

We're currently running Firefox on Debian 12. I've tried both the ESR version that comes with the Debian repository and the latest Firefox as a flatpak.

When printing to the receipt printer, the only thing that is printed is the left-hand most part of the logo and a little part of the text and this occurs towards the right-hand side of the paper. I've changing all of the settings, resetting the settings for the print in about:config, but nothing seems to work.

I'd love to get this working so that staff could use Firefox. I'm attaching an image of what the print job looks like and a screenshot of what the print-preview shows.

I noticed that FireFox downloaded a Firefox HTML Document called GnT6qZGD with a size of 0KB, during this time I had tabs open from both https://wago.io/weakauras and https://www.curseforge.com/

Scanned it with Bitdefender and it was clean and when editing in notepad it is empty and a blank page when accidentally opening it.

Then completed a full system scan and it come up as clean.

I have 2 questions,

1st, Is this still a bug in Firefox that appears to have been reported before? 2nd Should I be concerned about it?

For a few weeks I have had a new problem on my new Windows 11 Lenovo laptop, and also on my wife's older Dell laptop. We have been using Thunderbird for years without major problems. I loaded the latest version of Thunderbird on my new laptop and it seemed to work ok at first. Now I have a problem with intermittent failure to send normal emails on Thunderbird. My wife has noticed the same problem on her laptop Windows 11. I asked iPrimus support (who are supposed to support Hotkey) but they say it is not their problem but Thunderbird's. We RECEIVE emails ok, and sometimes pressing SEND will work immediately, sometimes on the second press, and sometimes not at all. This generates a message "-- Unable to authenticate Outgoing Server (SMTP), smtp.hotkey.net.au -- Check password and verify authentification method in Account settings/Outgoing server SMTP" We both use Trend virus protection.

Account name: mail.hotkey.net.au Outgoing Server: smtp.hotkey.net.au Server Settings: Server name pop.hotkey.net.au

                             User name is my email address

Others asked and were pointed to extensions. As long as extensions get access to my pages, I'm not willing to use any. So, is there an option in advanced settings, to return to previously viewed tab when I close a tab? Thanks, Cat

Hello, I did look for related posts but found nothing close enough to this so I thought I would create a post. I don't ever recall having this issue before v102 was introduced but now it happens once in a while but not always.

If I am in the inbox of my main mail account and choose to delete a message, it goes away and then reappears almost immediately. There is a box that shows up at the bottom right of the screen that says: The current operation on inbox did not succeed. The mail server for account (my main mail account is shown) responded: UID MOVE failed. This account is in Canada on the Bell Canada network so perhaps it is an ISP issue?

I have 3 mail accounts set up - all IMAP. If I close TB and reopen it, the message is gone as if it required the program to close in order to complete the delete request.

If anyone has experienced this and has any suggestions or tips, it will be greatly appreciated. - Thanks, Mike

1. Often TB won't show new message, it'll list a number of new message, maybe I can actually scroll down & view a few of them, but quite often, I'll try to scroll down and can't see that new message that TB indicates exists. Or I have to click on an old message, then try again, click on another message I've already viewed then scroll down to where the new message is. This morning, tried both several times, still couldn't see the new message that TB insists is there.

2. At one time, when you opened TB, you were automatically taken to the end of all the messages in your inbox or if you fllter emails to folders, to the end of messages in that particular folder. No more, you have to scroll down to the end. Why? It's a waste of time for me to do that and as far as I know, TB places no limit on the number of emails in an inbox so . . . why was that changed? Because it was user friendly?

In my search I noticed that there was one TB user who was so upset he/she/they wanted to return to v. 102. I wonder how many people, seeing the response, also have returned to a previous version. I know I'm really tired of getting additional bells & whistles i don't use, changes to what you see that don't help me at all, plus making using TB more of a hassle--see above. Please fix the above problems. If it's not fixed in the next upgrade--which I'm hesitant to install given the result of the last few upgrades that introduced the above hassles--then I'll probably go back to an older version too.

It didn't, not always. Over the years, there have been times when the issue would still pop up, but not as often as before (2022 and earlier).

I have a feeling that during an issue, FF is having difficulty setting up shop after starting up. Consequently, it is spending more time before it could become prepared to connect to the Net. I've come up with another "solution," which is deleting (or moving out) xulstore.json in the profile folder after exiting or before starting FF. You can create a batch command or script to execute the process.

So far, FF is connecting immediately after startup.

Hi folks, I am wondering if there is a possibility to add a strikethrough icon to the compose window. I use strikethrough quite often and it is very inconvenient to go to the menu each time. I can find only addons for earlier versions of TB. Thanks

With the latest version of Firefox the menu, etc. have a font size that is TOO SMALL. There are many Mozilla posts about this problem.

My wife cannot read them. I can barely read them. If this is not fixed soon, we will switch to another browser.

Can the Firefox code writers fix this?

Just switching between inboxes can cause up to a 10 second delay with Thundebird "not responding" with the spinning wheel. It has been like this for the last few laptops I've had and through all the updates and I am getting ready to call it quits. Hi,

I do like how I can change the toolbar buttons that Thunderbird shows when I open Thunderbird. That is, I other mouse button click on the toolbar and select "Customize." I have a panoply of buttons to choose from, to arrange as I wish on the toolbar.

But, when I am reading an email, the buttons I see on the top left of the email window are: "Reply, Forward, Archive, Junk, Delete, More" (in Settings, I have "'Open messages' set to 'in a new message window'."

I have not been able to find a similar "Customize" ability for the toolbar of the message window.

Is there such an ability?

The reason I ask... I'd like to have similar control over that toolbar to that I have on the other Thunderbird toolbars. But I cannot find the appropriate Customize option.

What am I missing?

(Thunderbird 115.9 on Linux Mint, 115.10 on Windows)

So running thunderbird 115.10.1 (64-bit) and more and more issues:

• the app keeps getting non-responsive for long period of time, to fix this I have to force quit the app.
• at times when composing an email the app freezes where no typing occurs for seconds or typing is very slow or after typing awhile the text suddenly appears.

Seems to be happening more and more trying to figure out how it can return back to it's rockstar state when it was <99 version.

any help would be appreciated.

I was able to change the color of the context menu (the menu you get when you either right click or click on a dropdown) and the color of the highlight/selection as shown in the attached screenshot.

The default color looks like it's black, and I'd like to change it to match the rest of my Arc-Dark gtk theme. Does anyone know the name of the CSS tag that controls the context menu border?

Hi - I can't get 'pocket recommends' stories to appear in FF on my macbookpro (14.4.1)

I've done pretty much everything I can find online including the below – nothing works

I'm on a Mac running Monterey 12.7.4. I've been using Firefox for years with no issues. All of a sudden Firefox can't load any websites. Message: "We can’t connect to the server at www.XXX.ca." But Safari loads all websites with no problems. I can't figure this out.

I've been having problems with some websites not displaying content, others displaying error messages. So have been going through the Troubleshooting Mode and diagnostic process.

The cause is the MS CoPilot extension for Firefox.

Useful in other ways as I discovered several other extensions I don't need, hence have remained disabled.

I've recently upgraded Thunderbird to 78.14.0 and Nostalgy to 3.4.2. Nostalgy is an essential add-on for me, but it's not working the same as in earlier versions, and I hope someone can help with these problems. Or should I ask Alain Frisch, the author of the add-on? 1. Using S to move (or C to copy) an email to a selected folder works when the email is closed (but highlighted in the Inbox or wherever) but no longer works when the email is open. Earlier versions worked when the email is open, and it's a huge drawback for me that it doesn't work that way now. Am I missing something? 2. The command G (go to the specified folder) does not appear at all when invoked from within an email. When the email is closed G provides the expected list of folders, but focus does NOT move to the selected folder. Again, am I missing something?
