share all tabs PDF saving doesn't work

Hi, I have a plenty of tabs accumulated in my FF on Android, v119.1.1 (Build #2015984795), 2a75e15258+ GV: 119.0.2-20231108221453 AS: 119.0. Within Tabs menu there is S… (read more)

Hi,

I have a plenty of tabs accumulated in my FF on Android, v119.1.1 (Build #2015984795), 2a75e15258+ GV: 119.0.2-20231108221453 AS: 119.0.

Within Tabs menu there is Share all tabs option. When clicked, the Save as PDF, Print, and typical android sharing options are presented.

Click on Save as PDF does nothing. Sharing to other apps works partially (text list is shared, but some parts of it are not kinks but a concatenated text of tabs titles combined together, not clickable, not https:// part).

The phone has lots of tabs, many of which are deactivated.

I want to backup them and review on bigger screen, but can't do that :)

Sharing to other devices connected via Mozilla account shares only subset of tabs, not sure about the logic, the most recent ones for sure + some deactivated but not all of them.

On the mobile app for Android (Google Pixel 2 XL, Android version 11), there's this really annoying issue where tabs are constantly duplicated. Normally, it's when I search something on Google (through Firefox). It pulls up the search results, of course. But when I hit a link, here's what happens: the tab is redirected as it should be, but simultaneously another tab is opened, which is a duplicate of the original tab (the one with the search results), and Firefox switches to view that tab, tab 2. So I have to go back to tab 1 to see whatever, and usually I then close tab 2. After this, once I've been hit a few links on a single tab, caused that tab to redirect a few times, it stops doing this. I've also noticed a similar issue, specifically with Google images in Firefox. Sometimes, when I open a picture to view it, every time I go to the tab with the picture, it opens a tab of the Google images page (before I selected a picture). This will happen endlessly sometimes, every time I open the tab to view the picture, meaning I never actually get to see the picture.

The autorefresh is making the browser unusable, the page barely loads - there's no time to even type in a username, before it refreshes.

I found a setting that's possible under about:config, "accessibility.blockautorefresh" on another forum page. But that setting no longer appears to exist in Firefox Nightly or Firefox Beta.

FF works fine on my Mac, but on the Chromebooks, it's unusable for any pages requiring login, and nearly so on other pages, especially any page with heavy graphics having to reload. It's also not doing content publishers any favors to use extra bandwidth which isn't needed.

I don't know why autorefresh is even a thing, much less why it's required (since the option to disable it appears to be gone). If I actually want to refresh a page, I can do that. And web developers have their own tools to make pages refresh if it's needed on their site.

Ironically, if I wanted to type this post up on my Chromebook, I'd have to use Chrome, I wouldn't be able to log into FF to post it! Instead I'm using FF on a Mac.

Is there really any way to stop FF Android from continual refreshes?

Hi,

I'm having this issue with clicking on links where when I click a link it opens a new tab but the new tab contains the current page. The link I'm trying to reach opens in the tab I was originally on. I can't see anywhere in the settings a solution to this and haven't seen anyone else have the same issue. Does anyone have a fix or is this a bug?

Thanks

Hi, I had over 100 opened tabs in the tab window. Somehow they all disappeared I don't know why. It happened when I was opening the firefox app and closing it (swiping away) from the open apps list. Maybe I clicked some click combination or something else I dont know but the next time I opened my app I had 0 tabs. Now I have just one (while im writing this post). Is there any chance to restore them?

This applies to the latest Firefox for Android version (this issue did not occur with the previous version). I manually closed my tabs and closed the Firefox app when I exit. However, when I open the app again, the previously closed tabs are there as if they were never closed. This is fixed if I delete browsing data but, obviously, this is not an ideal solution. I have tried to attach a short clip of this issue in action but it will not upload. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

So I have a lot of inactive tabs open on my mobile device Samsung Galaxy S21 (I do not know and can't find out how many exactly); and I want to be able to have a "backup" of them so to speak, or be able to save and transfer them somehow as a file locally on my phone or a folder on my desktop through the sync function, if possible. But I believe I'm running into issues because the sheer number of them is too large?

Here's the thing though, I already did this with my tablet's (Samsung Tab S7) Firefox browser app, and since it had fewer inactive tabs, I was successful in sharing their data into a Samsung Notes file and saving that as a PDF on the tablet! So this seems like a reasonable solution (I think? but please let me know if I'm wrong about that).

So far, the Firefox app on my phone has crashed every time I've attempted this. I was using the "share all tabs" function from the tab settings menu and no matter what method of saving the info I chose (i.e. saving them to a Notes file, as a PDF directly, upload to a cloud storage, or printing it even...), the app froze momentarily and then quit, not allowing for the backup of the data.

I understand that the file size is probably too large but there is no other option for only doing the "sharing"/saving in smaller sections or chunks either. So, I would appreciate any help you can offer me in how I can fix this, deal with the process, or pointing in the right direction of some other method that would help me achieve the same goal!! :)

Thank you so much in advance, hope you are having a fun & lovely October day/night!

(oh btw, P.S. I thought I'd attach the crash logs of both my phone's own reports for the app AND the crash logs you can access in the Firefox app as screenshots in case that's helpful ^_^ and of course I'm also going to leave the Socorro link for the specific most recent crash related to these issue down below this paragraph! Hope that's useful somewhat!!)

On Firefox Desktop, Addons can access and delete tabs that are older than x Days, surpass a threshhold of y max tabs etc.

Fenix supports only to close tabs after 1 week or one month, which is a huge difference. 2 weeks is not available, as well as "close oldest tab if you open more than x tabs".

Can Addons access the Tabs? Other option would be to implement this essential feature, as the current implementation is good but not good enough.
