First, I am technologically illiterate, so my terminology will be imperfect. Until today, there was a second line in my Google browser that listed my favorite sites I visited daily. It was just below the Google Tab line (the very top line). That line is now gone and now I have to look up the web addresses in my bookmark thing off to the right. How can I get that favorite sites line thingy back?

Hyperlinks keep opening in new windows, not in the same/existing window where they were selected. Issue is not unique to Google Search results and occurring across multiple websites. At wits end trying to figure this one out. I have deselected the "Open links in tabs instead of new windows", turned off all extensions, and uninstalled & reinstalled Firefox. Issue is still occurring. Attached is image of my tab selections showing all turned off.

I am shifting over to TB from Windows Live Mail. I have installed TB Ver 115.16.2 on 7 computers successfully (Win 7, 10 and 11) over the past year. But on one Win 7 computer TB will not save the password. Usually TB asks for the Password during set-up. But here it asked for it in a pop-up box. Yes, I entered the correct password. Yes, I said "save with Password manager." But here it keeps asking for it, over and over. At one point TB connected to the POP download server, just long enough to download all the incoming emails, but then quit connecting. It won't connect to the SMTP server. The port numbers for POP and SMTP are correct and the security settings are correct. I've done a lot of web searching. Most sites say that profile files logins.json and key4.db may be corrupted. I disabled them (by renaming) and copied those two files from another computer on which the same Thunderbird version works properly on the same mail server. Same thing - TB still keeps asking for the POP server password. I just deleted TB (uninstalled, and deleted all the appdata directories, and verified there were no lingering registry keys using a list shown on Spiceworks). I'll next reinstall, but don't have much confidence that it will work. Thanks.

I have had my main email account with Earlink.net since 1997.

It's functuionality is OK, but falling behind with the years, and now not at par with major email accounts. Furthermore, they keep raining tehmonthly price!

I'm using your Thunderbird as a backup only.

So, I want to get another/new account, at a better, more modern provider, and hopefully at a lower price.

But, once I do that, I need all my emails (organized in folders) accumulated for years to be brought to my new account AND future emails received at my old Earthlink account to be forwarded to my new account.

Please advise!

I had like 10,000 open tabs (not exaggerating) and these tabs are gone after a blue screen error and a few Windows updates. I want to restore those tabs, but I can not because the "Restore the previous session" option is grayed out.

Are there ways to restore these open tabs?

If there isn't one, then I want to restore all the websites I have visited over the past few years and manually filter them.

How do I do it?

The Firefox library contains history but the oldest history it contains is 2024 December one. I guess the dedicated folder removed my old browsing history as it was filled up?

What I read is that places.sqlite file contains all the browsing history. Is this right? My places.sqlite file size is 80.0 MB (83,886,080 bytes). Is there a size limit on this file? I wonder if this file contains all my browsing history.

I have my places.sqlite file and DB Browser installed on my computer. But I don't know what to do next after opening places.sqlite file.

If there are better suited applications for my purpose than DB Browser, please recommend me one with a little instruction.

Long story short, how do I restore my open tabs or browsing history?

I wanted to use the new VPN feature and the icon initially showed up in the top right, but it has disappeared and is not present in "customise toolbar" or privacy settings either.

Hi. lately i canot login to facebook from mozilla browser. i can, from any other. The broblem started latelly. done everything internet sugests. I'm suddenly having a problem where images don't save as .jpg unless I add that myself. At first, it wanted to save images as WebP, but I was able to fix that in the about:config. Now when I go to save an image, it wants to save as Chrome HTML document and I have to click all files and then add .jpg.

My computer ran into an error and restarted and I lost my entire browsing history, bookmarks, extensions, etc. Now I have nothing saved and the only browsing history my computer is showing is when I briefly opened microsoft edge. Verwalte über Thunderbird mehrere Mailadressen, jedoch läßt sich keine dieser Mailadressen öffnen. Es kommt ständig die Mitteilunbg , 'Keine Nachricht gefunden' . Bei Neustart kommt die Mitteilung Thunderbird wird bereits ausgeführt, und dann erneute 'Keine Nachricht gefunden ' ... !???
