I had to add Javascript because one of my accounts need Javascript to open. After installing Javascript and allowing for all to be 'true', I still get this message when I try to open a 'show blocked content' in my email.

"The address wasn’t understood

Firefox doesn’t know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (javascript) isn’t associated with any program or is not allowed in this context.

You might need to install other software to open this address."

I never had any problem before installing Javascript. Thanks for any solutions.

After the latest update (117.0 64-bit) I now do not see the '+' sign in the tab bar. I have 40 tabs open (please, no negativity - it's always worked for me), but if I close all of the tabs it reappears. Re-open the original 42 tabs and it's gone again. Close them and it reappears, etc. Now for the fun bit: starting from scratch with a new window - the '+' is there, but open 20 more tabs and it goes.

Starting on June 1, when I tried to use Thunderbird, I have to log into my Gmail account. I enter my email address and password and the next screen states: "Sign in with Google", which I do. The last screen in the process is "Mozilla Thunderbird Email wants to access your Google Account". I click on Allow and then the following message appears: "Authentication failure while connecting to server imap.google.com"

When I go back to Thunderbird and click on "Get Messages", I am put back into the Login loop, including 2- Step Verification..

I've used Troubleshoot Mode, I've cleared the startup cache, but neither has resolved the problem.

More Troubleshooting Information

Application Basics Name Thunderbird Version 91.10.0 Build ID 20220525135609 Distribution ID Update Folder C:\ProgramData\Mozilla\updates\D78BF5DD33499EC2 Update History Update Channel release User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:91.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/91.0 Thunderbird/91.10.0 OS Windows_NT 10.0 19044 Application Binary C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe Profile Folder C:\0-TBird\Profiles\jsxynuvz.default (Local drive) Build Configuration about:buildconfig Memory Use about:memory Performance about:performance Registered Service Workers about:serviceworkers Third-party Modules about:third-party Launcher Process Enabled Multiprocess Windows 0/0 Fission Windows 0/0 Disabled by default Remote Processes 3 Enterprise Policies Inactive Google Location Service Key Missing Google Safebrowsing Key Missing Mozilla Location Service Key Missing Safe Mode false Profiles about:profiles Telemetry Data about:telemetry Mail and News Accounts ID Name Incoming server Outgoing servers Name Connection security Authentication method Identity Name Connection security Authentication method Default? account1 [user name]@hotmail.com (pop3) pop3.live.com:995 SSL/TLS Normal password Wes <[user name]@hotmail.com> smtp.live.com:587 STARTTLS Normal password true account2 Local Folders (none) Local Folders None Normal password account4 [user name]@gmail.com (imap) imap.gmail.com:993 SSL/TLS OAuth2 "[my name]" <[user name]@gmail.com> smtp.googlemail.com:465 SSL/TLS OAuth2 true

I can use account1 - [user name]@hotmail.com (download, read, delete, messages), but I no access to account4 - [user name]@gmail.com. I have no idea what account2 - Local Folders relates to.

On June 2 during a 2-1/2 hour unproductive session with a good computer technician I've been using for probably 10 years, Security Alerts were sent to account1 - [user name]@hotmail.com (as set up as a security step in Gmail): "2-Step Verification turned on", "App password created to sign in to your account", "App password used to sign in was removed", etc.

I have personally spent over 8 hours over the past 3 days exploring solutions suggested to other users with a similar problem but nothing has helped.

I have checked for stored passwords; there are none.

Please let me know if you need more information.

Thank you very much for you help! I will save whatever is left of my sanity!

When I open Firefox it's just a black page and anything I click on isn't responsive. I can't go into options or anything. Sometimes Firefox doesn't even load. It worked fine earlier than all of a sudden It stopped working today. Web pages don't load. Nothing works

I seen a post earlier that had a link to a supposed fix but I couldn't figure it out. So if anybody is able to help me it would be much appreciated. I am not an advanced user when it comes to Firefox

Yesterday I tried the 115 (Supernova) and I was disappointed because of the toolbar on top of the TB window: I think that you should let the user choose where put any toolbar, and I didn't find the way to move in its "classical" place (not at top but below the menu). There is a way to do it? And if not, please consider to give it as soon as possible.

Being a decade user of Firefox I must say that I started to hate it because the last editions hide the choice for enabling or disabling javascript. The stupid comand "about:config" leads nowhere and all previous answers are absurd. Why Mozilla decided to hide the option " turn on / turn off" javascript? It turned a previously great navigator into a stupid user unfriendly useless software. I use the internet for over 40 years and Firefox has always been my favourite. What obscure financial reasons made developers decide to hide the simple option of earlier editions? Please put back the "on/off" option for javascript. Untill then I'll use Chrome.

I use Iosevka font as my preferred custom font for websites, I really like this Firefox feature (actually one of the main reasons why I swapped from Chromium browsers), and as of updating my Firefox Nightly to "Nightly 119.0a1 (20230908094535)" version this feature no longer works on all websites, and only seems to work on the search bar when I open a new tab.

Image 1: Settings (unchanged since previous version when this feature worked) Image 2: Search bar in new tab is using Iosevka font correctly Image 3: An example of another website where the font is not being loaded where it did in the previous version.

Thanks.

I'm using Firefox 104.0.2 (64 bit) under Windows 11.

Under Settings I have selected Startup Open Previous Windows and Tabs.

I normally have more than a dozen tabs.

For the past few days, when I start Firefox my previous session is not restored and I just get the single Firefox tab.

When I got to History there is no longer a Restore Previous Session option.

How do I get it back?

Thanks

We have recently enabled background updates in our organization, however I noticed that a requirement for this to work is that Firefox needs to be run with the default profile at least once after the feature is enabled. The issue we have is that not all users are actively using Firefox and therefore they are not being updated. I realize the security flaws won't be exposed if it's not in use, but management doesn't like seeing out of date browsers. Is there a way to force auto updates on all device where Firefox isn't not being used. Background updating is working for the majority of those that do use Firefox.

Also, we do have a couple of users reporting a credential prompt when updating from 119 to 119.0.1. These same users had no issues updating from 118 to 119. I have not figured out why this is happening just yet and why only for a handful of users so far. Would anyone have an idea why that is happening?

When watching something on Youtube and I click on the coloured download icon, I get to be able to click on the title of the video. A blue 1 appears in the download icon. When I click again, then click on the blue 1 to watch the download. Nothing happens. The window just sits there and states 'downloading', but it does not happen. This happened last year and you managed to fix it; now Youtube seem to have blocked downloading again. Geoffrey D Dean, Australia.

In the past, I had followed this post and created the userChrome.css file so that when I have my emails shown in Table View, if one email within a thread is unread, the whole thread is collapsed, but the subject line remains in bold.

With this latest Thunderbird update to version 115.13.1 I have lost the functionality; now the subject line of the collapsed thread shows as underlined. How can I go back to my preferred bold view?

Thanks
