Hello. I'm senior, so that tells you a lot right away! I'm not technologically-savvy but will try to explain the issue. I use Thunderbird and have been satisfied with it for several years. However, now when on my PC I try to forward emails which contain images and text such as newsletters from organizations I belong to, although I am able to write the recipient's name in the TO box, I am not able to write any message nor is the SEND button active. (I have contacted the organizations in question and have been assured that there is no block to forwarding on their end) I should mention that a rectangular red box with lines shows up on the screen of the PC. One tech whom I spoke to says it's a problem with Thunderbird; ironically, I've just sent T a donation. I've tried to find my issue on Thunderbird's tech support but to no avail. I'd appreciate it if your reply could not have much technological jargon. Regards, Linda

   The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
   Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem. 

Got the above error in Foxfire, the attached in Microsoft Edge & Chrome..... very disheartening.... I remember clearing cookies but not passwords as I was instructed somewhere.... Please help me.... Thank you

I have HTTPS only mode turned off but it keeps setting everything to https.

Hello.

I'm experiencing some strangeness with the spellcheck on Firefox and would like to know if anyone can help.

I often seem to mistype "don't" as "don;t." Same with "won't." Firefox does not mark these as incorrect. But if I type "shouldn;t" or "couldn;t" I get a red underline.

Is there something I can edit to get those words with a semicolon to be marked as misspelled?

I'm using FF 91 on Win 7. But it's been this way for a long time, many different versions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

and I cannot type any letters other than English alphabet, even though I've set OS and input language to Korean. Problem is consistent to other typing language, except some languages that seems to have letters from alphabet combination.

While it seems that it's normal that some Chrome OS keyboard shortcuts are not compatible on Linux application, I'm not only unable to switch input language on Firefox but also not able to type any Korean letters after switching the input language outside Firefox.

Often can't log on to my IMAP email account at mail.optonline.net. "Login to mailserver xxxx.xxxxxx.xxx with username yyy failed." Sometimes it does work, but only after a long time and very laggy. Username and password and other settings are correct - checked and double checked. How do I fix it? This is a recent issue. Thanks!

I got a second hand HP Spectre x360 (2015) today which came with Ubuntu 20.04 preinstalled and it seemed fine at first but when I connected to the internet I found Firefox to be incredibly slow to load any site I tried to access. Trying to watch a video on youtube took about two minutes to load. Facebook and Gmail both refuse to load properly at all. No matter what site I try, it seems to take at least 30 seconds to load, if it loads at all. This might be the slowest computer I've ever used, and I remember the 90s! I know the internet connection isn't the problem since my other devices work perfectly. I tried to download some other browsers (Chrome, Opera, Vivaldi) to see if Firefox was causing the issue but they all failed to download properly (error message "failed to install file: not supported").

I'm at a loss. I've tried searching for answers online which suggested fiddling with the proxy settings and going to about:config to toggle the "network.dns.disableIPv6" from "false" to "true". and nothing seems to have helped so far. Any ideas please? I like the computer but it's totally unusable for me at this point.

Hello, I have a strange problem, so after loading the system, the processor in my computer is drastically loaded, after entering the task manager, it turns out that one firefox process uses a lot of processor (photo in the attachment) after closing this process everything returns to normal and CPU consumption even while browsing the internet does not exceed 7% but it is quite persistent because I have to close this process every time, I will just add that this problem does not occur in other browsers. and none of my friends have it either. I'm using Windows 10 with the latest updates and the latest Firefox developer edition. The problem has been around for about a year and is really bothersome. My processor up to i7 2760qm, I have 16gb of ram. I will also add that in my second laptop with core 2 duo, this also happens only with me, no one who has this problem. Thunderbird auto-updated from 78.14 to 91.1.1 yesterday. I'm using Thunderbird to access my Gmail account via IMAP. Everything was working fine in version 78, but now when I open a new message, the last deleted message reappears in the inbox.

If I have multiple new messages in my inbox, read one and delete it, as soon as I open the next message, the one I just deleted will reappear. Sometimes deleting the message that reappeared causes the another one to reappear, and I have to keep deleting them again until they stop.

For example, just now I had two unread messages when I started up Thunderbird. I read the first one and deleted it. When I opened the second one, the first one reappeared. When I deleted the second message, and then re-deleted the first message, the second message reappeared. Deleting second message one caused the first message to reappear again. This went back and forth several times before they stopped reappearing.

I've recently added a new work email to my thunderbird. The work email uses smtp.office365.com as the server. Initially when I set it up it all worked lovely. Then a week later it stopped. Wouldn't let me log on and told me that my login/password details were incorrect but they were the same ones I could use to login to webmail so I knew they were correct. Some googling later I found out that MS needed more security so I changed authentication from normal password to OAuth2. Success - I managed to login and download my emails. But when I tried to send, it told me that it was 'connecting to Office 365..'. But then 5 mins later it told me that the server had timed out and nothing had been sent.

Since then I've tried many permutations of settings but nothing has worked. I have occasionally got different error messages including: Sending of the message failed. Failed due to unexpected error 80004005. No description is available. The message could not be sent using Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.office365.com for an unknown reason. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again. or Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.office365.com timed out. Try again. Trying again just seems to waste time rather than sending the email.

Things I've tried: changing SSL/TLS to startTLS. Every other authentication method available there (and closing and reopening TB in between each trial) Deleting and reinstalling the whole mailbox checking that there is a microsoft cookie in the cookie stash I've checked from the microsoft end that MFA is disabled (the microsoft guy said this could be a factor)

I have seen online a suggestion that I clearing history (caches and cookies) might help although this seems at odds with the advice to check there was a microsoft cookie so I haven't done that yet. A guy from Microsoft support suggested deleting my thunderbird profile and starting again (!) which I'm reluctant to do...

Any suggestions??!

For clarity - I'm using Thunderbird 78.14 (64 bit) and it's telling me that it's up to date I have a mac mini which is running MacOS Sierra version 10.12.6

The current settings in my thunderbird for this account are as follows: incoming server (working): IMAP mail server; outlook.office365.com; port 993; SSL/TLS; OAuth2; Outgoing server (not working) : smtp.office365.com; port 465; SSL/TLS; OAuth2

My Firefox browser (92.0.1 64-bit) has been very slow.

And, the "GO back" history does not work well with some Yahoo pages (like, Finance, email...), it keeps fill in the current page each time when I move the page down and up and thus prevents me from being able to go back to the previous pages.
