I got an email to update to version 100, and downloaded and installed, but now I have no bookmarks or anything else, just a blank version. Please help me! Thankyou!!

I try using the pair feature but each time I scan, I get a page showing "Did you use the system camera? You must pair from within the Firefox app" Even though I did pair from the Firefox app. I have tried multiple times, always the same issue. After install, I cannot receive/sync my messages from yahoo, gmail, or other accounts. In trying to troubleshoot, under advanced server settings, I get the error message that the storage local directory is invalid. Your scripts automatically set the directory as /data/home/user/.thunderbird/....however the default directory cannot be edited in the window. When I browse for other directories, your application will not show hidden files, therefore I cannot select the directory which was already installed by thunderbird at /home/user/.thunderbird... This should be reported as a bug as there is no means to select the appropriate directory. It cannot be entered directly in the window and cannot be selected through your browse application. My OS is NomadBSD, on FreeBSD13-RC6.

I set Thunderbird up for the first time earlier today and wrongly opted for POP. I realise now that it means I can't see my Sent folder, etc, so I'd like to change to IMAP. Unfortunately the article explaining how to do this on your website does not relate to the newest version of Thunderbird, as installed today. I've tried deleting the programme and reinstalling but it's remembering that I chose POP and not letting me start with a clean slate. Please can you help me with this, as I'd love to use Thunderbird!

I have a friend whose G5 Mac Tower is running OS X 10.4 / System 9 and he needs to install ThunderBird.

Which Version of Thunderbird runs under Mac OS 10.4 ?

I have just installed V.100 and have come across a small problem. I can't sign into 'The Canberra Times' site. The option to sign in is missing from their home page. It is there using MS Edge or Chrome and I can login to the site on those two browsers. This does not seem to be a problem with other websites that I have tried since the new version!

I can't even begin to imagine what might be going on with a situation like this! Thanks.

After installing the latest update 91.0.9 (I think), TB starts, shows my 'folders' in the left column and 'event's in the right column, then, instead of showing the selected email folder, an hourglass appears for a few seconds and then nothing. I've sent multiple crash reports. I tried uninstalling and re-installing to no avail. I've used TB for 10+ years on both PC n MAC - first time it's left me high and dry. HELP !!

I guess this could be considered "migration"... How can I sync the email between different machines, as & when I switch to use of a different installation of Thunderbird?

Here's my current setup: I have 2 laptops, and each is set up as a dual-boot with both Windows 10 Pro, and AntiX Linux. That makes a total of 4 operating systems, and I have Thunderbird installed on all 4.

I'm not sure how useful this is, for framing an answer to my question re. syncing, but here's extra info: I keep all my personal data on encrypted external hard drives, which I access using VeraCrypt. External is so I never lose my data if a given machine dies. Encrypted is so, even if the physical external hard drive is stolen, they can't steal the personal data. (I maintain a cloned backup external drive.) Today, I chose a location on the primary external hard drive, and created a folder named "Thunderbird email". I'm using the AntiX v19.4 OS right now, so I've set that new folder as the Local Folders location within this installation of Thunderbird.

I got this far, and then realized I need some guidance from more experienced users. So, I located this support page, and signed up for asking my questions about Thunderbird. Thanks in advance, for any help you can give me.

I bought this laptop because it had Windows 10 so I could download firefox, The laptop immediately updated to Windows 11, no way to stop it. I am locked out of my microsoft account, have been for years. How do I get firefox downloaded ?

I'm trying to help an elderly friend move from Eudora OSE to Thunderbird. I found this closed thread on the forum - and I want to know 'how to back up the Eudora OSE Profile' - or any other help you can give re migrating from Eudora OSE to Thunderbird. (She has thousands of old emails.)

The tech person said,

"May I suggest, back up your OSE Profile, and give it a try.

And the other replied: "I took the tech's suggestion Backed up Euroda files and simply installed Thunderbird VOILA ! When I launched Thunderbird it simply accessed the same files and file structure (and settinge/etc) as Eudora and I didn't have to do anything ... awesome !"

I'm looking forward to Thunderbird 102 with its new features. However I would like to install and run it separately from my existing TB 91.9.0, essentially so as to treat version 102 as a beta and so that I can roll back to version 91.9.0 if I'm not happy with 102 and so that the revamped features such as the new address book will not cause irreversible change. Is there any information online to help with this, or does anyone have any advice? Thank you Andy

I've tried various solutions posted here to move my Thunderbird mail profile to a new hard drive/installation of Thunderbird, and nothing is working. I didn't have the foresight to copy the entire Thunderbird folder out before my HD had to be replaced, and I just copied the individual mail folders inside the Profiles folder (which always worked in the past). Now, no matter where I past them inside the new installation (whether it's AppData > Roaming > Thunderbird > Profiles) or some variation thereof, I either get nothing upon launching TB, or I get empty folders where my emails used to be.

I'm desperate to recapture these emails - I launched a new business last year and all the track record of new accounts/links are in those emails. Can anyone help me? There used to be an add-on posted here but it was later posted that that, also, is now defunct. I also have about 15 years of old Eudora emails from my existing business that I rely on for a "paper trail" that I can't afford to lose.

If there is a repair utility I can buy, I'm willing to do that. I just need to know what to do here. Thanks for any help anyone can send my way.

I copied my Thunderbird profile to a tape drive, went to troubleshooting, profile, open folder and pasted my .map files which were abook-1.map, abook-2.map through abook-10. Restarted Thunderbird and files did not convert to .sqlite. How do I proceed to restore addresses?

Can't move Collections from my old phone to my new phone I have pressed sync BTW it still doesn't appear on the new phone. The photo is the two Collections containing 100 web addresses each on my old phone.

I recently purchased a dell refurbished computer, I set it up went and downloaded fire fox without any trouble. I restarted computer today and it would not accept password I called DiscountcomputerDepot.com help and they helped me to restart and they told me they would have to reinstall windows from computer. So I lost all my programs. when it restarted said would have to update windows. I have re-installed Windows 10, and Thunderbird. My address book information and messages are missing. Can these be found somewhere and saved.
