SMS are cut off mid-sentence

Hello.

I've had the same problem too often: I type a SMS, and when I send it, only part of it is sent, it's simply cut off mid-sentence. If I restart the phone, then I can send the entire SMS - but I have to type it all over again, of course. I don't know if it's a known bug or not. Any idea?

I'm on the ZTE Open, with FOS 1.1.

Hi,

I can't be sure of that bug because I have a Keon instead of an Open, but there is a beta version of Firefox OS 1.2 out on MDN (Mozilla Developer Network) available for flashing, with instructions, of course.

However, from what I can see from the 1,000+ bugs listed at Bugzilla (Search results about SMS) I can't find a bug for that.

Thanks, but I don't know enough to risk trying to install this. I'll wait for the "official" 1.2. I find it weird that nobody else has reported this problem. Maybe it's a problem with my phone and not FOS.

Hi frpeneaud,

The issue you're experiencing may be related to bug 939971 which has already been fixed and will be implemented in future versions of Firefox OS.

I understand that this can be a frustrating issue, having to rewrite long messages. For the time being, you can minimize this problem by sending shorter messaged and not minimizing or switching apps while writing an SMS.

It's also worth noting that most OEMs (manufacturers) have decided to skip version 1.2 and update directly to version 1.3. Unfortunately, this is out of Mozilla's control. You may find more information in the following news article:

Thanks very much for this information. I'm not sure I was switching or minimizing apps, but I'll make sure not to do it!

And I'll wait for ZTE to update to 1.2... I hope they won't abandon the Open, it suits me really well.
