Firefox OS on Samsung Galaxy Discover?
My mom, without knowing I'm anti-google *don't let my opinions influence any of these answers please*, bought me a Samsung Galaxy Discover with Ice Cream Sandwich.
Samsung Galaxy Discover is not on this list though. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/will-firefox-work-my-mobile-device
My main question is will it ever be? And can I attempt an installation anyways? Or is it absolutely unheard of for a device not on here to support Firefox OS? Because in the end, it's still Ice Cream Sandwich. The only reason it might not work is because Discovers are moderately cheap phones.
Update: I've realized I put this under marketplace. I'm new to forums and I don't know how or if I can change that tag. Don't hate me please :(

I'm not too sure. You could give it a try but I'm not 100% that it'll work. it may also be possible to find help on the #b2g channel on irc.mozilla.org

Hey there!
Firefox OS is Mozilla's own operating system. Were you looking into changing the OS of Android to Firefox OS or are you just looking to install the Firefox for Android browser?
Thanks!
OS. I would like to flash and replace it with Android if it's possible.
You can try to flash FirefoxOS onto your phone but it's going to be very difficult. Try googling for some tutorials. Note that the list of supported devices is for Firefox for Android, not FirefoxOS.
Ow wow! I didn't even notice that! This is the wrong compatibility list then! I remember there being some compatibility list for Firefox OS though. You have any clue?
Yeah, all I'm looking for is an "okay." I know it's going to be hard, and that's okay. I'm getting a new computer with Linux so I'm trying to get used to some terminal commands for it. I'm sure I'll need it if I'm going to flash it.
I'm not going to mark this as answered until someone gives me an absolute yes or no though. I've made that mistake before in an Ubuntu forum.
You can find help with installing FIrefox OS on the Mozilla Developer network:
https://developer.mozilla.org/Firefox_OS/Installing_on_a_mobile_device
The support device list is here:
https://developer.mozilla.org/Firefox_OS/Firefox_OS_build_prerequisites#Have_a_compatible_device_or_use_an_emulator
Okay, I found the right compatibility list. It goes by tiers.
Is there any chance of Discovers being able to boot this at all?

I just need to know if the possibility is open. I'm not being impatient, it's just we kind of posted that at the same time and I'm wondering if you got that message or not. ^^ I'm not going to install it if there's a 100% chance of bricking it. 99% chance is different though...

Well from what you're telling me, the possibility stands. Thank you, and I appreciate the extra links. I'm sure to be using them ^^
