An example is my own phone data: It put my familyname as a firstname, my firstname as a phonenr. And my phone number as an email adress. So far I only found the manual update as a solution. Fixing it on a desktop somehow would be less painfull...

Chosen solution

In my case, it did not even recognize contacts on my SIM card.

If you have the contacts in vcard format, by exporting/saving to memory card on an old phone, or by virtue of having them synced to your desktop and exported from there, you can use vcardin from the Marketplace to import vcards from a memory card.

The phone still has tons of problems/bugs related to contacts; you cannot batch delete, for example. Many of these issues are already fixed in newer versions of Firefox OS, and others are included in the roadmap.

For now, this solution got my 800+ contacts loaded more or less correctly.
