Why does it say I have an invalid email when I try to set up sync?

I have an ipod touch. I downloaded the firefox home app onto the device. I then tried to sync my home computer. When I try to set up a firefox home account I go to "tools", enter "set up a sync " and then enter "create a new account". A window comes up that "email address". As soon as I start to enter my email an "x" shows up followed by "this is an invalid email". What's up?

Just keep typing until you have entered the entire email address.
