Why do links on the Bookmarks bar open in a side window? I want them to go the site either in a n ew window or tab, not a mini version that appears now!
The link opens in a small side window and the page I had open stays and is about three quarters of the window. So I am viewing two pages at once, when I want to only view the link.

Right-click on the shortcut and select properties. Uncheck the box to load this bookmark in the sidebar.

The link that you are clicking on is the shortcut, so instead of left clicking, right click and do what was suggested by mangello
