The font shows in the address bar, on my bookmarks and firefox in general, but not for the web pages themselves. Also this font is in the menu/settings for ff. I tried to change the font in the options menu, but the entire font list has the same look. Changing this does not alter anything. I also tried disabling all ad ons, and the used the standard look for ff.

Chosen solution

Try to disable hardware acceleration:

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

Update the video display driver to the latest version.

You can also try to toggle some of the related gfx and layers prefs on the about:config page to disable some features.
Filter: /gfx|layers/

layers.accelerate-all
layers.accelerate-none
layers.acceleration.disabled
gfx.direct2d.disabled
gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.enabled
gfx.use_text_smoothing_setting

The first answer did the trick. Disabling the "use hardware when available" .

I have AMD HD5850 updated last week.

Disabling Hardware Acceleration may work, however, what are we going to do when websites take advantage of HA and we have it disabled due to horrid fonts?
