sync crashes when opening firefox 4.0 b4

When opening Ffox 4.0 b4, Sync usually doesn't work; has to be set up again, and Ffox restarted, then syncing again. I've tried b5 and b6, but they are slower than b4 for me. An uneducated guess: Direct2D marked as false even for those versions; anything to do with the fact that Run: dxdiag gives DDI:9Ex for my computer, and not DDI:10 as seems to be required?

The beta version are for testing, not for convenience. It is not guaranteed that they work correctly. If you want to use the beta version then you should use the latest beta release (4.0b6). If not then you should stay with the latest 3.6.x release (currently 3.6.10). If specific features aren't working then you can disable them.

Thank you for your answer. The sync problem, in fact, persists even in v. 4.0 b6 as well. And the reason why I keep using the b4 version is simply because the later versions are much slower than b4, i.e. worse, and, if the stable version won't be any better, I think I will not use it either. I have Vista SP2 w/ platform update, but Direct2D/DirectWrite aren't still enabled, as the troubleshooting info shows. There are serious flaws still even in b6 version, as you can see.

It is interesting to notice, as well, that Sync works well with v. 3.6.10, but not with any 4.0 Beta versions, including the latest. Please correct this error as soon as possible.
