When I click on feedback button to say something about the beta version flaws or praises, the following message gets displayed instead of taking my input. Earlier it was working fine.

"""Oh! So, you want to offer us feedback on the next version of Firefox. Thank you, but you'll need to be on our latest beta.

To do that, simply go to our download page and install/update to the latest Firefox Beta!"""

I have not found a definitive answer, but this may be due to the original planned release date for beta 3.

Beta 3 was originally planned to be released on August 6th, but has been delayed for a few days (currently scheduled for 11th-12th). The feedback system may have been setup to stop feedback from beta 2 from 6th August when beta 3 was originally planned for release.

I have installed “Firefox 4.0 beta 9 pre” from the Mozilla Daily PPA for Ubuntu. The Feedback-Plugin refuses my reports and says I have to use the most recent beta, which is beta 8 now. I really do not want to install every beta manually, that is why I use the PPA.

How does the Feedback-Plugin compare the version? Or is it not wanted, that a preview version is being feedbacked on?

I used the link that Cor-el posted and get the exact same message again. The feedback button worked ok yesterday, but not now. I went to the download page thinking maybe there was a newer release, even tho we were told it would update automatically, and clicked on the download. Before I saved it, I used the info to check the version I have currently and they are the same so I did not re-download it. This means I do have the most current Beta version as far as I can tell, yet am getting this error telling me I don't. Will keep trying to see if it gets fixed.

A new beta is due out very soon (should be later today). The feedback option becomes disabled when a new beta is due to be released.
