Hello I contacted you about this issue a while back but I don’t recall ever seeing an answer. Your response probably went to [removed email from public forum]. The problem here is, when I contacted you I was doing the accounting on that computer and would have been keeping an eye out for your response. Then, shortly thereafter, I decided I’d had enough and I retired. The girl who took over my job, if you did respond, probably saw it, didn’t know what it was about and trashed it.

So I thought it best to start over and at the end I will give you my personal email address so anything that comes from you will come directly to me. Now my reason for pursuing this is twofold. First, I think Firefox is the best browser out there. The only reason you aren’t number one is the other browsers have big names attached to them like Google or Microsoft. But I’ve come to learn, with anything, a high profile name doesn’t mean it’s necessarily the best. Im sure most people don’t know the TOR Project picked your browser over all the others for accessing the dark web. I would guess it was because they were looking for the best browser, not the one with the biggest name. I’m sorry I strayed so far from my actual question, but I feel it was just something that needed pointing out.

So I’ll get back on track. My second reason for pursuing this is this. I periodically check to make sure my apps are being updated automatically and I noticed that Mozilla updated Firefox on March 14th of this year to ver. 98.0. I immediately opened Firefox to see if that update solved my problem. Unfortunately it did not. So either Firefox still has an issue or Firefox is fine and I need to do something outside of Firefox to make it work correctly, which to me seems a bit odd.

So, on to the issue. Firefox has always been great at collecting login data and putting it into the proper site when needed. But I’m sure you know that certain sites such as banks or government sites won’t let the login info be put in by the browser. You have to type it in yourself every time. Now I’m not great at remembering that info so when I’m forced to type it myself I usually have to look it up, something which used to be a snap in Firefox. I would go to Settings>Privacy>Passwords & Logins and put the URL of the site at the top and all the information would appear. But that doesn’t work anymore. When I tap the last part (Passwords & Logins) it takes me to a page saying “To save and autofill logins & passwords, Enable Face ID, Touch ID or a device passcode.” And underneath in blue it says “Learn More.” Obviously, being in blue, this is a link. So I tapped on it thinking a page would appear explaining explaining all of the above, and with a box I could check which said something like “Not Interested” which would be for me because I’m really not interested in any of those things. But alas, all that comes up is a page saying in large bold letters “Page Not Found” and that is all she wrote. In fact, when I logged into Firefox to post this I couldn’t remember the password or look it up, but I made a lucky guess. Unfortunately I can’t always do it that way. And just for the sake of mentioning it, that phrase shows up in English, French, Japanese, Vietnamese, Cantonese and languages I’ve never even seen before. I guess they want to make sure that everyone in the world understands “Page Not Found.”

So, thanks for reading all this (I do get carried away at times) and if anyone out there has run across this problem and knows the answer to this riddle I would greatly appreciate knowing what to do. I haven’t been on a computer in awhile so I don’t know if it does the same thing on PC Firefox, but mobile Firefox has had this problem quite a long time. In my opinion more than enough time to fix it or at least put something on the internet that talks about it. Trust me, I’ve looked and looked and can’t find one thing that addresses this problem.

Oh, before I forget, here is my personal email address which is the one I would like you to use for any correspondence. [removed email from public forum]

Thanks much for taking the time to read this Greg Cocks
