outlook servers outlook.office365.com and smtp.office365.com responds to thunderbird on ubuntu, but not on windows. any clue?

Ubuntu version is 38.6.0 and windows is version 38.7.0.

I have quadruple checked everything and it keeps saying the username and password on the windows machine is wrong, this is false, because exactly the same settings work on my Ubuntu machine.
