When trying to save to Pocket, you will be prompted to log in to the site and no cookies will be saved if the '''Never Remember History''' option is selected in the first drop-down within the History section on the Browser Privacy page. To fix this issue, you must add an exception for Pocket on the Browsing Privacy page by doing the following: # [[Template:fx29menu]] # Select '''Preferences''' (on mac or linux) or '''Options''' (on Windows). #;The ''Preferences/Options'' page displays. # Click '''Privacy & Security''' from the left menu. #;The ''Broswer Privacy'' page displays. # Select '''Use Custom settings for history''' from the first drop-down within the History section. #;[[Image:Custom settings for history]] # Deselect the '''Always use private browsing mode''' checkbox if not already deselected. # Click the '''Manage Permissions...''' button in the Cookies and Site Data section. #;[[Image:Manage Permissions]] #;The ''Exceptions - Cookie and Site Data'' pop-up displays. # Enter [http://example.com https://getpocket.com] in the '''Address of website''' field. # Click the '''Allow''' button. #;[[Image:Allow]] #;https://getpocket.com is added below to the '''Website''' column and Allow is added to the '''Status''' column. # Click the '''Save Changes''' button. Save to Pocket again after completing the steps above. A prompt will display asking you to log in one more time.
We found that most of the time, users who've selected the '''Never Remember History''' option from the first drop-down within the History section on the Browser Privacy page do so because it seems like the right thing to do, but they don't understand the impact of this change. Therefore, when trying to save to Pocket, they'll be prompted to log in to the site and no cookies will be saved. To fix this issue, an exception has to be added for Pocket on the Browsing Privacy page by doing the following: # [[Template:fx29menu]] # Select '''Preferences''' (on Mac) or '''Options''' (on Windows). #;The ''Preferences'' page displays.
