Hi there,

It sounds like you are enrolled in a scientific study we run in Firefox, called a Shield Study. They are given to small, random groups of users that have opted in to data collection in Firefox. This allows developers to get real feedback before shipping a new feature or enhancement to every Firefox user. I want to reassure you that these studies are making Firefox better for its users.

You can read more about the opt-in data collection in Share data with Mozilla to help improve Firefox.

If you would like, you have the option to opt out of these studies, though we are sad to see you go.

  1. Type about:preferences#privacy into the address bar.
  2. Remove the checkmark next to Allow Firefox to install and run studies.

For more information about Shield Studies, see About Studies.
