Use bookmark folders to organize your bookmarks

This article describes how to organize your bookmarks with bookmark folders.


Making new folders

  1. Click on the View menu, select Sidebar, and then select Bookmarks to open the Bookmarks sidebar.
  2. Click on the folder inside which you want to make your new folder.
  3. Right-clickHold down the Ctrl key while you click on the folder which will contain the new folder, then select New Folder....

  4. In the New Folder window, type a name and (optionally) a description for the folder you want to create.

Putting bookmarks into folders

  1. Click on the View menu, select Sidebar, and then select Bookmarks to open the Bookmarks sidebar.
  2. Click on the folder that currently holds the bookmark you want to move.
  3. Click on the bookmark you want to move and drag it over the folder to which you want to move it. Release the mouse button to put the bookmark into the folder.

Smart Folders

You can create "Smart Folders" in the Bookmarks Library window. These folders are like saved searches that update automatically. For information on using Smart Folders, see Smart Bookmarks Folders.
