Firefox Assistant lets you search Firefox on your Android home screen without launching the browser. Here's how to add the widget to your home screen to search even faster:

To find out which version of Android you're using, please refer to your device documentation.

Android 5 and up

  1. Press down on any empty spot on your Android home screen.
  2. Tap Widgets.
  3. Tap the Firefox Beta widget from the list.

    The Firefox Assistant appears on your home screen.
  4. Resize the Firefox Assistant widget if necessary.

You can also set the Firefox Assistant widget as your default phone assistance app from your Settings > Default Apps screen.

Prior to Android 5

  1. Tap the All Apps button on your home screen.
  2. Tap on the Widgets panel, or swipe to the right to get to it.
  3. Tap the Firefox Search widget to add it to your home screen.
    Tip You have to hold the widget down and drag it to your home screen.
  4. Resize the Firefox Assistant widget if necessary.

You can also set the Firefox Assistant widget as your default phone assistance app from your Settings > Default Apps screen.
