I've been banging my head against a wall trying to figure this one out. Every time a video plays on youtube, reddit, etc it will show normal colors for a split second then it will darken it and wash out the colors. Not sure what is causing this.

Things I've tried: gfx.color_management.native_srgb to true in about:config Changing video settings in nvidia control panel Turning off hardware acceleration Restarting browser and PC Updating browser and video drivers, windows as well Turning off all extensions Trying with codecs both deactivated and reactivated

No other browser does this and ALSO when I run firefox in private mode it doesn't happen and videos run normally. Also when I try to record or take a screenshot of it it looks normal. Thank you for any assistance.

I am unable to either log in or access accounts on the websites indeed.com, x.com and chatgpt's openai.com

I used different computers (Windows 10 and Windows 11), different networks (Public library and private residence), and different versions of Firefox (125 and 126.0), one browser without any add ons and another with the "uBlock Origin" one, and I kept observing captcha or human authentication related errors.

With x.com, I would pass the human verification challenge (solve 10 puzzles), and then I would get the error "Something went wrong. Due to a technical issue, we couldn't complete this request. Please try again." My FF version 126.0.1 browser history file size is stuck at 10,240 KB. Until recently it was 54,000 KB and change. I would like to get it larger. I've tried all the recent help postings relating to places.history.expiration.max_pages, places.history.expiration.transient_current_max_pages, browser.history_expire_days, browser.sessionhistory.max_entries or browser.sessionhistory_max_entries, and so on. Nothing seems to be able to change the "places" file size. Anyone have any more info on this topic?

Yesterday I set up a new computer, installed Firefox and logged in to my Firefox account. Everything went well, my bookmarks appears, all (!) my extensions were installed, everything looked fine. Then I went about my way configuring unrelated Linux stuff, using Firefox as normal on both computers, no problems.

But at some point, I suddenly noticed that on both computers, the icons for most of my extensions had disappeared. And sure enough, looking in about:addons, all that was left were five addons (Dark Reader, Simple Translate, uBlock Origin, Dictionary Anywhere, OneTab). And on both computers, including my main laptop (!), where I hadn't done anything other than clicking around in websites.

And it only affected the extensions, my bookmarks, history, etc all is fine and synced between the computers.

No restarting of Firefox, choosing different profiles in about:profiles (there was only one other, a mostly empty one), nothing got them back. And looking in ~/.mozilla/firefox/, sure enough extensions.json and all extension related folders had been changed, looking as if I never had more than these five extensions installed.

And when I installed one of my usual extensions again, all of it's settings and customizations were back to default. So this is not just a case of having to reinstall a few extensions. All custom uBlock filters, all Tampermonkey scripts, etc, everything is gone.

I tried looking around on the web for solutions, but it appears that there is no one who has had this exact issue before, and I couldn't find any indication that there is any way to revert such an error by Firefox Sync.

To my luck, I have a secondary laptop where I should have a mostly up-to-date instance of my Firefox profile, from which I will now try to recover my extension data, but if that weren't the case, years of fine-tuned settings and customizations would be gone.

As people rely on Firefox Sync to back up their Firefox data, instead of backing up their Firefox data "against" Firefox Sync failing like this, I'd think this is not something that ever should be possible to happen. At the very least, there should be some way to revert errors like this. Perhaps Firefox Sync could store backups either server side or client side before syncing deletions like this?

I've seen a few submissions describing the same or similar issues, but is there a consistent, effective way of changing the time zone in Firefox? It keeps defaulting to the wrong time zone (despite everything else on my system displaying the correct time zone) and has been doing so for weeks. Solutions appreciated!

Due to a recent major security breach I started changing all of my passwords on my main desktop, I did not have sync on at the time. I then opened up my work laptop (again unsynced) and decided I should really use the sync feature to transfer my 500+ passwords onto my laptop for when I travel.

When I got home that evening, I turned on the sync feature on my main desktop, unfortunately it pulled all of my compromised passwords from my laptop and overwrote the ones on my main desktop. Is there anyway to restore my pre-sync passwords and ensure that they get transferred to my laptop instead please.

I did lost all history data after a previous update, my user got corrupted data and somehow I did manage to import the info into Edge browser. To my surprise after I reinstalled a clean Firefox, it only imported back 3 months of browsing history. Topically, average user keep a computer 3-4 years.. I don't know from where developers came with the idea of limiting to such a shot interval. I have thousands of browsing history links from more that 10 years kept and I need them all.

Tried to increase the number from about:config, but there is an option only for Chrome which I never used and always hate :)

I did installed Chrome to convince myself about it's ingenuity, even if it was not necessary. It does have import option only from Microsoft Explorer, no Edge.

If there is a solution for importing a longer period and high number of entries, please share it.

I'm not an IT expert, but I can manage consoles if there is an even deeper option to modify config files.

Whenever I go in to sign into Amazon Prime, using Firefox, the sign in page automatically shows my E mail address, my phone no. and my password. I do not have Amazon as a saved log in. I contacted Amazon and they had me log into Amazon on a different browser and this information does not show up on Microsoft Edge, so Amazon said it has something to do with Firefox. Please let me know how I can eliminate this information from showing up automatically on Firefox

I have been facing this issue when accessing Google Drive using Firefox, after selecting a file and clicking on "File information" option the "Details" and Activity" tabs simply don't load, as you can see in these screenshots.

Also, I found this thread also here on Mozilla Support from two years ago that reports the same issue. Apparently the bug was solved but ended up returning in most current versions.

Firefox was logged into my account and synced before migrating computer to Azure AD. After installing and logging into the fresh install of Firefox, there is no data associated with the account. It looks as though it was created today, even though I logged into the pre-existing account. I even have emails to this account from over a year ago.

Any way to recover?

I have been working for Data Annotation for nearly a month and never got this error before. I need this money for rent! I'm trying really hard not to freak out here but today is the deadline for rent and the only way I'll get that money is to log on to this website so I need help and I need it now.

Hey y'all, I just closed Firefox and tried to open in up again a few minutes later. The icon in my taskbar threw an error saying it couldn't find the executable. I typed Firefox into the run dialog and FF came up but has no icons on the home screen, zeroed out my bookmarks bar below the URL field and deleted all my bookmarks (100s).

I went into the User/../../Mozilla folder system and found a folder called bookmarksBackup or something similar. It was completely empty.

Any chance these were saved somewhere else as well?

Hey there, long story short - nowadays it's crucial to support those who WFH, and most people use G Suit for company work. I personally have a few daily calls via Google Meet and having the TAB sharing feature available is highly appreciated. I know this was requested a lot, but this is a real dealbreaker for many people.

I have created a webpage with a canvas element that allows the user to draw an irregular path by pressing down the mouse, similar to the free drawing of a paint application. The issue is that the very first time that the user presses the mouse, the line stops abruptly, while the next times the lines are drawn correctly. The events seem to fire correctly and the page works fine at Chromium, so it seems to be a Firefox issue. You can find the html page below. I am curious, what could be the problem?
