I started noticing my browser was running rough, and I tracked it down to Youtube, but only when I have a video in fullscreen. It doesn't appear to be affected by the codec, av0/avc/vp09 all suffer from it.

Incognito mode (no extensions) is still affected by it, but a separate profile + troubleshoot mode are not. My RTX 5080 is showing about 2% usage when playing a video, 0% at idle.

How do I nail down what's causing this?

Using Firefox, 148.02, on windows 10, 22H2, 19045.6937. .I have a single page on Paypal that initially displays correctly then almost immediately becomes very large and shifts to the left. See attached image.

I see it correctly in Edge. Have tried minimizing and restore, reduced screen then restored, tried F11 full screen. No help. Tried various scaling and Firefox zoom settings. They don't help and every other page is distorted. This is the only page I have a problem with. It's got to be how that page sees Firefox. I've talked to Paypal support, they say they have no problem. Can't find anything on Mozilla/Firefox help

The alert message appears everytime I go back into gmail This browser version is no longer supported. Please upgrade to a supported browser. I checked that Firefox was last updated Feb. 26. So I'm understanding what's going on. thanks

I'm sending this from my phone. My desktop FF (Win 10) suddenly displayed a black wireless globe type icon called Prox-Media pinned to my taskbar. I can't find the app on my system, though, but the full path leads it to a firefox.exe file. Before my brain kicked in, I'd clicked on the icon right after noticing it, and Firefox came up with the attached error message displayed.

"Prox-Media" comes up nowhere in my searches - not as legit, not as a virus - just no results. Can you help?

I have a paid AVG account and I ran a deep scan but it found nothing.

When i downloaded Firefox yesterday i noticed my desktop icons the pictures changed to Firefox picture is there any way i can them back to the way they were before. Barbara Hudson.

For the last 2-3 day I have been experiencing a box that asks for my signature each time I go to a new website. I can't move the box. I can't screenshot it. Does anyone know how I can get rid of it?

I hard shut down my laptop and when I re-opened it, Firefox seemed to have reset itself completely. My profiles were gone, my bookmarks are still present but their icons are missing, my background is missing, my extensions un-pinned, and -- naturally -- all of my tabs were closed. My original profile is completely gone, which kind of sucks, because it was pretty personalized. I think even my preference settings reversed themselves, because it tried to show me the AI chatbot on the sidebar, which I had turned off. I figured at first that it was a matter of spotty connection, because I was using my phone's hotspot at the time, but I'm now back with a solid wi-fi connection, and everything is still acting strangely. Help? How do I get my original profile back in its proper form, if possible? Or, at least, the icons to show back up on my bookmarks? I have turned everything off and back on again, as it were.

Since I upgraded from FF128-esr to FF140-esr I always get the "Firefox is being updated by another instance" This is really driving me crazy, as I checked / did / .... everything (and even more) I found on the internet related to that.

Nothing helps !

Creating and using a new default profile didn't help

Finally I ended up uninstalling FF completely (making sure no -zero- leftovers remained in ProgramFiles, AppData a.s.o.), and reinstalled FF140.7.0-esr freshly. After installation I started FF immediately with the created default profile (only existing one) --> SAME THING : "Firefox is being updated by another instance"

And this is really a FF140 thing, when I go back to FF128, on the same computer, same profiles, ...., the problem is gone.

I would like to know in detail what checks are really done by FF to decide to give that "Firefox is being updated by another instance"
