Two days ago I stopped seeing images on Ebay and Facebook. I can see them using Internet Explorer. I checked my settings, and they are correct for images. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox twice, no change. I did a search for blogs about the problem, but found no help that works.

See:

You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:

  • Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
  • Go to the Media tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
  • Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
  • If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
  • You can see the permissions for the domain in the current tab in Tools > Page Info > Permissions
  • You can see all exceptions in Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions

I tried this solution on both affected sites. There were no checkmarks on either site.

Did you check the other suggestions in the http://kb.mozillazine.org/Images_or_animations_do_not_load article?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

See:

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

  • Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
  • Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

Tried it in safe mode, no change. Still no images both sites. Got an error image stating there was an error uploading image (on this site). Can't display image here for you. Small box, text was "Error uploading image. Check to see that you are logged in". I was logged in.
