before I attempt it I'd like to know if firefox is compatible with the ipad and if there are any "tricks" to loading it onto the ipad.

Get a grip! Since when does your so-called "right" trump a company's right to secure their patented and copyrighted material and. Products?

This morning, Christmas morning I am logging on here with a new iPad. I have been using PC based systems since 1988. I own two desktop systems and a laptop and I have been a proponent of Firefox a d use it exclusively since the week it came out.

"Trust me" when I tell you, I wish Apple wasn't a closed system. That said, it is in part what makes Apple the unique and amazing offering.

What does the number of PC's and laptops that you own have to do with anything? So basically you're saying that others like Microsoft cannot impose on us what search engine we use but it's OK for Apple (Steve) to impose on us the use of Safari and only Safari and that certain add-on's that we use daily are a no-no.

While the iPad is a nice Gee-Whiz toy (Mom, Look whatI can do with just my finger and thumb!) it is very limited for serious stuff. The one thing I can say for Apple's capriciousness is that it does keep the baddies at bay.

The only reason I have an iPad is that my wife saw me looking at an article about it and assumed that I wanted one for X-mas and she got my kids to buy me some overpriced bells & whistles-I would rather not hurt their feelings so I reluctantly kept it-not happy with what I cannot do.
