Recently, I've decided to install Firefox since another program I'd like to use is dependent on it. After the simple installation the browser opened, but I carelessly closed all the tabs and it suddenly crashed. Since then no matter how many times a restart my PC, reinstall the browser or delete files, it simply closes as soon as it opens. It seems to be indicative of a file preventing it from starting, or it's missing a file, but I thought I'd ask for assistance before giving up.

We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing when you open it. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.

  1. On the keyboard, press [Windows] Windows key + [R]. This should bring up a Run window that contains a text field.
  2. In that text field, type %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
  3. From that explorer window, double-click on the Mozilla folder, then double-click on Firefox and then on Crash reports. Double-click on submitted.
  4. Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to View > Arrange Icons by > Modified to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
  5. Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
  6. Paste each ID with bp- into the reply window on the forums.

Thanks in advance!

Hello Paul and thanks for the reply!

In the directory you directed me to there is no "submitted" folder. That's strange. Please also do keep in mind that I haven't had Firefox open functionally except at the very beginning, and even then for a few seconds only. I have, however, done a clean install MULTIPLE TIMES and none seemed to fix my issue. Perhaps the problem isn't with Firefox itself?

I've attached a screenshot of the directory in Explorer. Thanks

(Edit: I've tried entering the 'events' folder but it was just empty.)
