I am currently running Firefox 96 on windows and for the past many builds of firefox over the past 8 months ebay listings in the item description are compressed. I am attaching an example image of the compressed description. It does this on both just plain text or formated descriptions. If I reload the listing it will correct it to full width. I have tested this on another machine that is also using firefox and same issue.

I have also disabled all extentions and cleared cache and uninstalled and reinstalled firefox with not luck.

Any suggestions as this is a pain.

Thanks!

Yes, it's interesting. The frame starts out with a hardcoded width of, for example, 76 pixels, and after a reload, the hardcoded width is updated to, for example, 935 pixels.

I assuming a script in the page is making the change, but I don't know why it only runs correctly the second time. ??

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

Warning ! ! This will log you out of sites you're logged in to. You may also lose any settings for that website.

If there is still a problem,

Start Firefox using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

While you are in Troubleshoot(Safe) mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

Tried both of these options in the past with no luck, just tried them again and the issue is still persisting with graphic hardware acceleration off.

Open to other suggestions, it is very annoying, hate having to use non FireFox browsers for my eBay work.

Check your zoom controls.

<Control> (Mac=<Command>) + (plus) enlarge - (minus) reduce 0 (zero) restore

Manage site-specific zoom levels and color settings

Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox {web link}

Remove a single website from your history {web link}

Open the History Manager <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> H. In the search bar, enter the name of the site. Right-click on one of the listings and select Forget About This Site. This should remove all information, including any site settings And Passwords.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox for a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox for this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data for that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data for that website will be saved once again.

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, DuckDuckGo PE, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.

Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content. You can click shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection. You can check the Web Console for relevant-looking messages about blocked content.

Thank you for all the suggestions, I have tried these again with no luck. I have removed all extentions even, I have done the forget about ebay from history, clears all cache, disabled the hardware acceleration, etc.. still no luck

At best 1 out of every 3 or 4 item views the description looks correct all the rest of the time it is compresses and even zoom in or out does not fix it. The only way to fix it is to refresh the page.
