I'm running Firefox 68.0.1on an acer aspire 5517 w/an AMD Athlon TF-20 processor. It's incurably slow, is my W7 computer too old to run this version?

I use multiple tabs when running Firefox (usually 7). My computer system says the processing speed is 1.60 GHz w/3GB (2.75GB) that is 64 bit. I have Ghostery & Noscript as extensions, a Firefox theme & Shockwave 32/OpenH264/Widevine Content Decryption Module as add ons. I just need to know whether my computer processor will work with this version of Firefox or not. Thank you for keeping it simple & for any answers I may receive.

Hi jimalp, PC Mag reviewed the Acer Aspire 5517 back in 2009 and said that it is inherently sluggish. See Acer Aspire 5517. Firefox should run as well as your laptop will allow. There are a few things that you can do to get the most out of what you have. Here's an article to give you some ideas Quick fixes if your Firefox slows down.

Thank you for your response, I'll try the easy solutions that I understand. I do remember that on my first laptop back in 2008 (a Lenovo Xt machine), I had 3 windows, each with multiple tabs, each window for a different purpose. Not anymore I guess. Thanks again best wishes to your family & yourself, Jimalp
