I opened Firefox today and there was something called LinkeyMac - I changed the opening default page - but, no matter where I go I cannot figure out how to get it out of the site and off of my MacBookPro computer. Also, there are things called rocketlife listed - and I do not know what that is - please help, thank you.

Hello jelaine,

Good for you to be on the alert, cause that LinkeyMac is a browser hijacker, malware that you will of course want to get rid of.

See : http://www.myantispyware.com/2017/10/23/how-to-remove-search-linkeymac-com-chrome-firefox-safari/

Go to the Firefox menu (≡) => Add-ons => Extensions

( Mac  : Command + Shift + A)

Look for anything unfamiliar - if you find one, remove it.

Next step : run malwarescans.

Further information can be found in this article : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware?cache=no

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. They all work differently - what one program doesn't pick up, the other might.

According to you system details you are running a very old (ancient even) Firefox version, which gets no security updates and puts you at risk.

Would you please update to either the latest release version, which you can download from here :

https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

Or (if needed) the latest ESR verssion, which you can download from here :
