get this message when searching " Reference #30.1d3aca41.1516130490.77fef72f " but other browsers and saved sites work fine.
Unable to search with firefox browser but other search engines work such as google . the smessage I receive is " Reference #30.1d3aca41.1516130490.77fef72f " I believe this started after I upgraded my Firefox browser.

That sounds like a message from a system that temporarily blocks access to a site when it finds something suspicious about your request.
Could you try making exceptions in Adblock Plus and Ghostery and see whether that makes any difference?

Maybe also check for issues caused by HTTPS Everywhere 2018.1.11.
If you use Adblock Plus then you can try uBlock Origin as a replacement to see if that works better (lower memory footprint).
