This may not be a Firefox issue, but I've searched Facebook and have no answer.

I've started with the Add-ons disabled in Firefox, changed my Appearance option, checked for updates for my Plug-ins but nothing seems to help.

The only thing I haven't done yet is use another browser. I've disabled some of my Add-ons, one by one with no results.

Has anyone here had this issue? Any help will be appreciated.

If images are missing then check that you do not block images from some domains. You can tap the Alt key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar Check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"

Check "Tools > Page Info > Media" for blocked images

  • Select the first image link and use the cursor Down key to scroll through the list.
  • If an image in the list is grayed and "Block Images from..." has a checkmark then remove this checkmark to unblock images from this domain.

Make sure that you do not block (third-party) images, the permissions.default.image pref on the about:config page should be 1.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

There are extensions like Adblock Plus (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and Anti-Virus software that can block images and other content.

I just tried Explorer and everything was normal. I can't imagine what the problem is when I use Firefox.

It is possible that your security software in blocking the images.

You can check the Net log and the Network log in the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer) to see if content fails to load or possibly is blocked (file size is zero).

Use Ctrl+F5 or Ctrl+Shift+R to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.

If you have Avast then try to disable HTTPS scanning in Avast Web Shield.

Still no luck. Cor-el. I've tried several of your suggestions but am so afraid I'll mess something else up.

Surely it can't be Avast if I have NO issues if I use IE. Facebook is just like it always was. I printed off that article (10 pages) and tried several suggestions from there. Nada.

I once again disabled some of the Firefox Add-0ns and nothing seems to do the trick. Yesterday morning it was working fine and then by evening it was not showing any pics. I just do not know what to do to correct this.

So, you do have Avast?

Did you look at this?

Try to disable HTTPS scanning in Avast Web Shield.

Open the Avast dashboard on the affected system.
Select Settings from the left sidebar menu.
Switch to Active Protection.
Click on Customize next to Web Shield.
Uncheck the "Enable HTTPS Scanning" option and click OK.

Yes, I do have Avast. I just checked again and had already done exactly as you said per your previous message. I just can't understand what is going on. One other thing that has happened is I don't know if you are familiar with Facebook, but where, beside each post is a small icon of the persons profile photo. Not any more. Now instead of a photo is just a name such as mine.

And across the top on the Menu bar I can no longer see several options such a Messages, Notifications. At first I thought it had to do with my fonts or some other silly thing I may have changed without realizing what I had done.

One time I had an issue like this but it turned out to be one of my Add-0ns that was the problem. But I've disabled some of them and even started Firefox in SafeMode.

I appreciate your help but just want things back to normal. :-)

Do you want me to send a clip of Facebook using Snipping Tool?

Cor-el,

I just did the About:config deal. The item was set to 2. I changed it to a 1 and everything seems to be back to normal.

Do you have ANY idea how this was changed to a 2 to begin with?

Everything seems to be working just fine. Had a couple of little burps but then everything seemed back on track.

I can't tell you how thankful I am to you for leading in the right direction.
